The song "Syvah" by Ding Dong is an upbeat dancehall track that celebrates the culture of dance and partying in Kingston, Jamaica. The lyrics reflect the pride of being from Jamaica and Ding Dong's love for his hometown of Kingston. The song is punctuated with the catchphrase "oh my days" which adds to the lively and celebratory mood.
The term "Syvah" is used frequently in the song and is explained as separating the real from the fake, the thugs from the bait, and recognizing those who are true to the streets. It is a call to hustle every day in the streets and not to rest until your goals are achieved. The song speaks of the love and camaraderie amongst party-goers, where people from different backgrounds and cultures come together to dance and have a good time. The lyrics also express a disdain for haters, hypocrites, and back biters.
