2. Dino, (born Dino Esposito on July 20, 1963), is an American DJ, singer, songwriter and producer.
Dino earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Broadcasting and Music at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Shortly after, he received a job as a radio DJ at his college radio station as the program director with his own morning show called Urban Sunrise. Later becoming a Top 40 deejay at Nevada's Power 97 station, he was offered a job at KCEP, Las Vegas' largest black music station, eventually becoming its music director. During this time he also moonlighted as a local club DJ.
Dino then became a singer, first as part of the musical group Esquire, and later as a solo artist recording song hits during the late 1980s, including "I Like It", "24/7", "Summer Girls" and "Romeo." In the initial up-swing of his career Dino performed in theme parks such as Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California with other artists such as Sweet Sensation and Linear. Eventually his album 24/7 reached the number 34 position on the Billboard 200 charts in 1989. Dino developed a wider fanbase when he was contracted to become the opening act for the musical group New Kids on the Block in the summer of that same year. He was signed to Island Records before moving on to East West Records in 1993. Under the Island Record label he formed his own production label, ONID Productions, which is his name spelled backward.
After his singing career, he began producing and songwriting with other artists such as Tonya Mitchell, Paul Taylor, Jordan Knight, Walter Beasley, Sheena Easton, and Joanna Pacitti, whose collaborative song "Watch Me Shine" was released on the Legally Blonde motion picture soundtrack.
Dino is currently married to Caroline Jackson, one of the original members of the singing group The Cover Girls.

3. Dino - Portuguese Soul and Funk singer.
If Dino’s childhood was a canvas, it would certainly be painted in an expressionist style, just like in the art movement, the harsh reality that Dino had in front of him was metamorphosed in the smooth perception he had of it. Like many of the emigrant families that came from Africa, Pereira family didn’t have a good life on the first years of adaptation to Portugal. 1982 was when Dino first used his voice, still in the doctor’s arms, just out of his mother’s womb. His interest on music was awake from a very early age, either linked to church, where he seldom performed in choirs, either linked to friends.
His first recordings were on the final of the 90’s, with a group of friends that named themselves as Opiniao Publica (Public Opinion) and, later on, in the Casa da Poesia (a name of a venue). This allied to the fact that in the end of the year of 1999 he met a young man called Samuel Mira, worked as a magic invigorating potion for his future. It was the start of a link that both still not knew the importance of it.
After his teenage years, Dino appeared on Operacao Triunfo (a sort of XFactor competition program that was broadcast on RTP) and becoming part of the Jaguar Band (2003/2004), the band that accompanies Expensive Soul. Many collaborations with different artists followed. After many years of those collaborations on projects that were mainly of others, he finally decides to start producing his own album, that puts all of his musical influences together. It was recorded and edited by Vitor Silva on the Vibe Zone studios.
The album was edited in by EDEL’s sub-label called QUARTO MÁGICO, whose frontman is, nine years later on, the same Samuel Mira that we all know as Sam the Kid.

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Stay up in your lane cause you ain't one of us
I seen you rollin' with them lames so you can't fuck with us
Got like four, five beams when we pullin' up
Shit ain't always what it seems when you fall in love
Body up,down when she on one
At the crib downtown baby pull up
I
It's too many bitches actin' like they know us
Ain't nobody knowin' what we been through
Bank account look like an ocean it's a lotta blues
Why you talkin' all that shit knowin' it ain't true
I guess they jealous when you doin' shit they can't do
Yeaa
Baby tell me what you into
And maybe we can leave the club in my Benz coupe
I'm just tryna get a lil info on you
And I know that the liquor be temptin' you
Ahh
Keep that nina on my side if shit get dangerous
Really get it how I live it, I ain't make it up
Seen that shit was getting dry I had to shake it up
If I catch em goin' talkin' crazy we gon bang em up
Get my money upp
Way she drop it down oer at the club she fuck it up
Need someone who really finna ride when it get rough
I played my cards right so I ain't ever had to bluff em
My bag different
Sum you ain't gettin'
Only fuck with bad bitches
Turnin' rags to riches
I been livin'
Hopin' she gon forgive me
I know she ain't forget me
She tellin' him that she miss me
I'm at the condo where you at
Lil brodie placed a parlay and we hit it back to back
Cause if you ain't bout money I ain't really fuck with that
Know all my brothers different but we still get to that bag
Po me up another one
Stay up in your lane cause you ain't one of us
I seen you rollin' with them lames so you can't fuck with us
Got like four, five beams when we pullin' up
Shit ain't always what it seems when you fall in love
Body up,down when she on one
At the crib downtown baby pull up
I
Hate when bitches think they know sum
It's too many bitches actin' like they know us
Hit it then I pass it that's a give and go
What you livin' for
Man what these bitches on
Way she gettin' down nasty I shoulda known
Oh she on my mind, take my time, centerfold
Up and down
In and out
Bend it ova
I can get you Louis or Christian Dior
Gotta watch the closest to you cause you never know
Gettin' straight to it girl I think you said enough
Po me up another one
Stay up in your lane cause you ain't one of us
I seen you rollin' with them lames so you can't fuck with us
Got like four, five beams when we pullin' up
Shit ain't always what it seems when you fall in love
Body up,down when she on one
At the crib downtown baby pull up
I
Hate when bitches think they know sum
It's too many bitches actin' like they know us
The lyrics of Dino's song "Lift Me Up" explore themes of loyalty, authenticity, and the complexities of relationships. The opening lines set the tone with references to staying in one's lane and being selective about who to associate with. Dino emphasizes the idea of not being like "them lames" and the sense of exclusivity that comes with his circle. The mention of "four, five beams" when they pull up suggests a sense of protection and strength in numbers, further reinforcing the idea of unity and being a tight-knit group.
As the lyrics progress, Dino delves into the challenges that come with romantic relationships, noting that things aren't always as they seem when you fall in love. The fluctuating nature of a relationship is highlighted with the mention of the girl's behavior going "up, down" when she's in a certain mood. Dino expresses frustration towards people, particularly women, who claim to know him and his crew, insinuating that there are many who pretend to be familiar with their lives but are actually unaware of their true experiences and struggles.
The theme of material wealth and success is also prevalent throughout the lyrics, with references to a bank account "like an ocean" and turning "rags to riches." Dino mentions playing his cards right and not needing to bluff, suggesting a confidence in his abilities to navigate life and achieve success. The lyrics also touch on the importance of loyalty and being there for each other when times get tough, emphasizing the need for genuine support and understanding within his inner circle.
Overall, "Lift Me Up" by Dino captures a blend of bravado, vulnerability, and keen observations about human behavior and relationships. The song conveys a sense of empowerment, self-assurance, and the value of staying true to oneself and one's closest allies. Through his poignant lyrics, Dino paints a vivid picture of a world where loyalty is paramount, success is hard-earned, and authenticity is key.
