Does this song have copyright?

Cobro

as terrible as Disney Universe was, I will admit, this tune was groovy

EDIT: Replayed the game recently, it was fine. Not as bad as I thought it was tbh.

Really, the only visual problem I had with this game was that the people in the costumes, aside from color looked the same, gap in teeth and all.

Cangrejo Perclórico

yeah, I have no fucking clue why they went SO DAMN HARD with the OST lmao

@Ralsei I actually have a very similar opinion. It has good ideas, but falls flat in some areas, and it leads to a forgettable game with memorable moments.
I agree that the visuals are fantastic, and the worlds and level designs specifically are done so creatively. but some portions of the art direction rub me the wrong way.
My only main issue are the playable imp characters. I get that you're only playing as costumes, and not the actual characters, and that's an idea that I respect; it can be done well.
but the kids inside the costumes just look wrong to me. I'd have much less issue with the aesthetics if only the players looked less... 'loud?' 'rough?' idk, they just don't look right.
(the costumes, however, look wonderful in the context that they are costumes. they really give off the feeling of being just costumes very well.)

On gameplay, I agree too. there's not much more to say though, since you kinda nailed my sentiments perfectly. but one big point I can add is that if there was something more in the levels themselves, and something added to the combat to boost the pace and remove button mashing. (I know timed commands and counters are a thing, but have you ever bothered to purposefully use the timed commands when mashing just works better?) I think the game would be more enjoyable to play - disregarding visuals - if waves were less frequent, and if the level design was tweaked to promote exploration beyond one-time collectibles. (another thing, recollecting collectables for a supplemental reward adds alot to a game like this. it would've also be a plus to have added that.) Or just something to incentivize going out to explore for the purpose of exploring in and of itself.

Additionally. this game needed more rewards. it's a hollow victory the whole way through. all you can get are collectibles, costumes, stars, and gold. and NONE of them are obtained in a satisfying way except for the collectibles and a handful of the stars. (again, though, the ladder can only be obtained once, so the levels feel more empty than they already were on supplemental runs.)

One final point, the music WAS really good. most of the tracks are unified under this light hip hop additive combined with heavy use of synthesizers over real instruments that makes it feel really unique. some tracks are a little too bassy for me, and a handful just weren't that great or interesting (Challenge songs) but it was mostly bangers.

So in conclusion, yes. it's not a fun game to play (take it from me, who 100% the game twice fueled entirely by nostalgia. but it has a lot of overlooked good qualities too.

and yes, said good qualities are justifiably overlooked, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

Gameplay had the right idea, but needed WAY more going on, either that or a rehaul, the presentation (Visuals, music, concept, and story) are all fantastic however, it really might’ve been something amazing with some more interesting gameplay, the gameplay is polished, but it’s not very interesting and tends to drag, I kinda hope someone Disney outsources to (Since Disney’s in house game dev is basically dead) maybe tries to revive this idea.

I actually enjoyed the game a lot! But it’s your opinion and I respect it
