Far From Home
Don s Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You washed up the tide was lookin low today
You wasted my time on those summer days
Fall comes, turn over a new leaf
Seasons change and you think you know me
Colors change, people change so we do too
I don't know if i'll ever be with you
Future's lookin blurry i hope that we can see it through
Till we meet again in the end
Long ride it's taking us a long time
Those eyes, memories inside my mind
Thoughts of you taking me so far from here
Far from here
Far from here
Thoughts of you taking me so far from here
Far from here
Far from here
Feelings feeling like the ocean
Feeling deeper the deeper that we go in
Thinking i got it all figured out
Until i've fallen down
And our plans falling out
And now i'm calling out
Pick up your phone don't doubt
Slow it down, don't go against the current
Trust the seeds planted are gonna flourish
On both sides we go from darkness to the light
Long ride it's taking us a long time
Those eyes, memories inside my mind
Thoughts of you taking me so far from here
Far from here
Far from here
Thoughts of you taking me so far from here
Far from here
Far from here
Down down i'm feeling solo
Down down but i can't burn out
One day i see the tide change
One way i'm living my days
Far from here

Overall Meaning

In Don S's song "Far From Home" the lyrics are built around the themes of transition and change. The first few lines "You washed up the tide was lookin low today/You wasted my time on those summer days" establish a sense of change and taking stock of one's life in the present. This is reinforced when the lyrics say "Seasons change and you think you know me/Colors change, people change, so we do too" indicating that change is inevitable and that people change over time. The lyrics dive deeper into the theme of change with lines like "Feelings feeling like the ocean/Feeling deeper the deeper that we go in," which implies that emotions are complex and complicated and that people have to go deep within themselves to understand their emotions.

The chorus of the song reiterates the idea of being far away from where one started: "Thoughts of you taking me so far from here/Far from here/Far from here/Down, down I'm feeling solo/Down, down, but I can't burn out/One day I see the tide change/One way I'm living my days/Far from here." These lines reflect the pain of being far from where one started and the uncertainty of the future, but also the hope that one day things will change for the better. The mention of memories and eyes inside the mind add to the idea that one's emotions are tied to memories and experiences.

Overall, "Far From Home" is a song that speaks to the universal experience of life's transitions and how people navigate change. The lyrics are introspective and emotionally resonant, making it a powerful and relatable song for many people.

MCU really did justice with this version of Spider-Man and Peter Parker.
I love how the last few moments of the second film is literally the first time we get a good glimpse of him swinging around in Manhattan.
I absolutely admire how Feige and the MCU writers avoided all the junk that could have been rehashed from the two previous film rendition and went on a whole new route with so much care to detail and executed it perfectly.
The first film was such a good emphasis on Peter's immaturity and Spider-Man's exploration on his Stark Technology suit, web shooters, and learning how to swing.
The second film was such a good emphasis on Peter stepping up to the hero mantle (becoming the "next Iron Man") and Spider-Man's exploration on his Spider Senses (Peter Tingle), raw strength, and creatively using his web fluid.
The third film is going to be a full blown out film of Peter Parker/Spider-Man's full potential and this would not feel right without all the MCU elements that were present in the first two solo films.

Please Sony and Disney, come to terms already.
Do it for the fans.
Do it for Stan Lee & Jack Kirby.
We deserve this.
