Boy sa'n ka man naroroon
Kabilang dito ang damdamin nakatago
Na 'di ko kayang banggitin sa'yo
Di 'ka nawawala sa aking ala-ala
Maging araw at gabi iniisip kita lagi
Hello boy (hello boy)
Hello boy (hello boy)
Sa 'pag tulog ko'y larawan mo
Ang nasa tabi ko
Umaasang
Sa pangarap ko'y
Kasama ka
Di ako nag-iisa
Tulad ngayong malayo ka
I love you boy
Mata ko'y lumuluha
Boy sana ay narito ka
Sana'y umabot sa iyo
Ang munting himig ko
Damdaming di mahinto
Ikaw ay iniibig ko
Hello boy (hello boy)
Hello boy (hello boy)
Mag-ingat ka sana
Sa 'pag tulog ko'y larawan mo
Ang nasa tabi ko
Umaasang
Sa pangarap ko'y
Kasama ka
Di ako nag-iisa
Tulad ngayong malayo ka
I love you boy
Mata ko'y lumuluha
Boy sana ay narito ka
Sana'y umabot sa iyo
Ang munting himig ko
Damdaming di mahinto
Ikaw ay iniibig ko
Hello boy (hello boy)
Hello boy (hello boy)
Mag-ingat ka sana
The song "Boy" by Donna Cruz is a tale of unrequited love. The lyrics express the deep affection of the singer towards a boy who is not physically present. The opening lines, "Boy ang awiting to'y sa'yo, Boy sa'n ka man naroroon," establish the yearning and longing of the singer for this boy. She expresses her deep feelings, which are so strong that she cannot express them in words, "Kabilang dito ang damdamin nakatago, Na 'di ko kayang banggitin sa'yo." Even in the singer's dreams, she imagines this boy beside her and wishes for his presence in real life.
The chorus of the song, "Hello boy (hello boy), Mag-ingat ka sana," shows the singer's concern for the boy. The lines signify that the singer doesn't want anything bad to happen to this boy and wants him to be safe always. In the second verse, the singer admits that she looks at a picture of the boy before going to sleep, hoping to be with him in her dreams as she dreams of a life with him. However, the tragic ending of the song reveals that this love is unrequited. The last line of the song, "Ikaw ay iniibig ko," meaning "I love you," establishes the heredity of her feelings for the boy.
