The name of the band came into being by chance: The bassist of the band, Jan-Dirk Poggemann wanted to name the band like the pastries donuts, but he wrote the name the wrong way by mistake. The other band members liked the name, because they found their philosophy in the name (donots = do nothing, like slackers), so they retained the name. Very rarely the band calls themselves "Ibbtown Rockers" because of their provenance.
The US edition of “Wake The Dogs” features 14 new songs from the punk-veterans, plus 2 additional bonus tracks not included in the original German release, and was released on OK! Good Records.

Telling you the world ain't safe at all
Gotta smash the smokescreen
Dont swallow the lies they feed
They wage a war thats based on greed
Dont believe your t.v
Gotta know your enemy
Of the rotten smell thats in the air
The power games have got to stop
Times up
Times up
Times up now
People die people loose their hope
Cheated by the man who cut the rope
Watch the world fall down - down down
I guess, it must be nice up there
But did you really think no one cares?
Gotta step down - right now
Times up - we cant take any more
No more
Were the kids were quit aware
Of the rotten smell thats in the air
The power games have got to stop
Times up
Times up
Times up
Were the kids and were well aware
And we aint gunna sit around and stare
A facts a fact enoughs enoughs
Times up
Times up
Step down
Right now
Step down
Right now
Step down
Tight now
STEP DOWN!!
Times up
TIMES UP
Were the kids were quit aware
Of the rotten smell thats in the air
The power games have got to stop
Times up
Times up
Times up
Were the kids and were well aware
And we aint gunna sit around and stare
A facts a fact enoughs enoughs
Times up
Times up
Times up
Time time ohohoh
Time time ohohoh
Time time ohohoh
Time time ohohoh
The lyrics of Donots's song Time's Up talk about the need to stand up against those who want to keep people scared and small. The song urges the listener to not swallow the lies that are being fed through the media and to know the enemy. The lyrics criticize those who wage wars based on greed and power games, resulting in people losing hope and falling down. The song's central theme is that our time is up, and we must act before it's too late.
The song speaks to the younger generation, who have become aware of the "rotten smell" in the air caused by those in power. The lyrics urge to take action to put an end to the power games and make a change. The phrase "time's up" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing that we have reached the end of our tolerance and that it's time for a change.

Yes guys, when 'time is up', moving towards the future means you have even less time, that is how time works.
