It was initially reported that Mr. Bramhall may have died as a result of complications from pneumonia. One of his final North Texas performances was at 2011's Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival. He was scheduled to perform Nov. 26 at the Granada Theater, with support from Fort Worth's Quaker City Night Hawks.
As a boy, Doyle Bramhall would jam in the family garage with local children, including the future ZZ Top guitarists Billy Gibbons (lead), and Dusty Hill (bass). While in high school, Bramhall joined The Chessmen with Jimmie Vaughan. The group opened for Jimi Hendrix when Hendrix played Dallas.
In 1969, Bramhall moved to Austin and formed Texas Storm with Jimmie Vaughan. In the 1970s, Bramhall formed The Nightcrawlers with Marc Benno, which also included Jimmie Vaughan's younger brother Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar. While in The Nightcrawlers, Bramhall co-wrote the tune "Dirty Pool," which appeared on Stevie Ray Vaughan's debut album, Texas Flood. He would write or co-write several other songs for the younger Vaughan, such as "Life By The Drop" from SRV's The Sky Is Crying album, and he played the drums on the Vaughan Brothers first and final album, Family Style.
Bramhall released his debut solo record in 1994, which included appearances from the Vaughans and his own son, Doyle Bramhall II. He also collaborated with Jennifer Warnes in the 1990s. In the 2000s, he signed with Yep Roc Records and has released two albums on that record label. Bramhall's album Is It News was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 in the genre of best contemporary blues album.

That you love
I know
You really love me
Even though
You never tell me so
Now my time has come baby
To have to let you go
I know
That you need me
I know
You really need me
Seems so wrong
To say goodbye
Well my life has changed now baby
I'll always love you 'til the day I die
I know
That your jealous
I know
Your really jealous
No better
When I go you want to know
Now I done wrong baby
Your the one that tells me so
Your the one
With no commitments
Your the one
Had no commitments
That's the way you wanted it to be
Now I'm done gone
And my life is full of misery
The song “I Know” by Doyle Bramhall is a blues rock song that reveals the complicated emotions of a man who is in love with a woman who doesn’t express her emotions very well. The opening lines state that the man knows that the woman loves him, but she never tells him, which makes it incredibly challenging for him to be with her. He has reached a point where he realizes that he needs to let her go, even though he loves her.
As the song progresses, we gain more insight into the relationship, and the man reveals that he knows that the woman needs him, but she never admits it. He finds it tough to say goodbye because he knows that it will be tough for him to live without her, but he also knows that he cannot continue to stay in love with someone who does not reciprocate his feelings. The man acknowledges that the woman is jealous, although he is unsure why she feels this way. He recognizes that he has done things wrong, and the woman is the one who always points it out to him.
In conclusion, “I Know” is a song that showcases the struggles that someone faces when they are in a one-sided relationship. The man in the song is in love with a woman who does not express her emotions or love, and it has forced him to make the difficult decision to let her go. The lyrics convey a sense of heartbreak and regret, but also acceptance and understanding.

Stevie Ray Vaughan always said Doyle had the greatest soulful voice he'd heard... and this song tells a little bit about why he always said that.
