A chained-up Igor was tending to the hounds that accompanied him at the gathering,

(wa-oo) The coffin bangers were about to arrive,
The musicians, who were rather loud and performed on top of coffins, were on their way,

(wa-oo) With their vocal group, 'The Crypt-Kicker Five.'
They were bringing along their singing group called 'The Crypt-Kicker Five.'

(they played the mash) They played the monster mash,
The musicians started playing the music for the monster mash dance,

(the monster mash) It was a graveyard smash,
The dance was a hit with everyone in the graveyard,

Dracula's voice could be heard coming from his coffin,

He asked for his coffin to be opened and, after doing so, raised his fist and exclaimed,

He was upset that the Transylvania Twist dance had fallen out of fashion and was no longer popular.
