@David Blagg More talent than anything. There may have been drugs involved, but the on-stage shenanigans were all part of their act, and it takes real talent to clown around while still performing flawlessly like this.

First of all how could you perform a song, for instance like Freakin' at the Freakers Ball and not have a blast doing it. But the other thing is that when you are relaxed and comfortable with your performance the delivery comes through the best.

Yes, you truly missed the heyday of the music. I'm 59 and saw them in concert over 2 dozen times. If you get the time machine working, save me a seat. We're heading for Jackpot, NV, summer of 1985. I don't know who was drunker, us or them. 🤣

Oh! I'm happy for ya! There's nothing compares to Dr. Hook. There's a biker bar called Nick's Waterfall House in the Catskill mountains in NY. I'd go inside, put $5.00 in the juke box and play every Dr. Hook song on there. Oh yes. Everybody had a good time! ROCK AND ROLL! 🤣

I wish I had grown up in this time period and seen these guys in concert. As amazed as I am now , I couldn’t even imagine being there live. Billy laughing looks like Cheech from Up in Smoke. Awesome 👏

I saw Dr Hook in the early 80's in Aus; having loved their music for years. I was so disappointed to find, after I got to the concert, that Ray had left the band. It seemed as if we only got half of Dr Hook. It was still great music, though.
I've never researched what happened, but sometimes I get lazy and can't be bothered to tap a few keys on the pc, to find out what happened... or someone's view of what happened. I get a bit suss if I don't hear it from the 'horse's mouth', so to speak. And two sides to every story.
Their 'Greatest Hits' will always be one of my favourite albums.

I loved this. It was so much fun and talent. I had a lot of Doctor Hook records years ago and my kids banned them from me. To crude. Lol but now as an old lady i get to pick and choose from utube. I have to admit that some oldies were pretty raunchy.

The thing about the Yodel Song that makes you smile is that it contains yodeling. This act was so good the microphone couldn't handle it and had to be held together with duct tape.
