Founded in Baltimore, Maryland, and active since 1992, Dru Hill recorded seven Top 40 hits, and is best known for the R&B #1 hits "In My Bed", "Never Make a Promise", and "How Deep Is Your Love". The group consists of lead singer Mark "Sisqó" Andrews (who went on to have a successful solo career), Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin and, Larry "Jazz" Anthony, and James "Woody Rock" Green.

Signing to Island Records through Haqq Islam's University Records imprint, the group released two successful albums, Dru Hill and Enter the Dru, before separating for a period from late 1999 to 2002, during which time Sisqó and Woody released solo albums. While Woody's Soul Music LP was a moderate success in the gospel music industry, Sisqó's debut album, Unleash the Dragon, and its hit singles, "Thong Song" and "Incomplete", were major pop successes, and established Sisqó as a household name outside Dru Hill. Sisqó's second album, Return of Dragon, did not sell as well.

In 2002, by then part of the Def Soul record label, the group reunited and added fifth member Rufus "Scola" Waller to the lineup for their third album, Dru World Order, whose underperformance led to the group being dropped from Def Soul. In 2009, the group signed to Kedar Entertainment Group and released their fourth album, InDRUpendence Day, the following year, with new member Tao taking the place of the again departed Woody.

Carolinas SweetTea music isn't what it used to be; it's all garbage now and it makes me sad. I'm so happy I was born in 1990 so I got to grow up with it. I would've loved to be a 15 or 16 in the late 90s or early 2000s because that's when this music was at its peak. I feel it all went down hill sometime after 2005. This song still gets me hyped. I worked at a music store when this dropped…the remix was on Sisqo’s album as a bonus track, they used to send us tapes of videos to play in the store on the TVs. This video was buried like 16th out of 20 on one tape, but people would come in a request this video and when we played it, a crowd would gather around the TVs the watch it. I can’t express how popular this was.

This will forever be one of the most brilliant things I have ever seen/heard. One of my favs from them. Sisqo had this song on his solo album. Just to prove it was still love between them. And JaRule was that dude back then. Still is. 50 clowned him for the same stuff he started doing singing on the track. JaRule had great albums and rapped along side the best of them. JayZ, DMX, Jadakiss...on and on...50 fans act like the candy shop song didn't exist 🙄🤣

LOL, yeah those were the good times. In 1999 50 Cent was just an unknown rapper with "How To Rob" on The Madd Rapper's album talking about all of the successful hip-hop and R&B artists he wanted to get money from hilariously. Ja Rule's first album, "Venni Vetti Vecci" is a classic album. I liked Ja Rule a lot more when he made music like that before he turned into the R&B gangsta on "Rule 3:36" and almost everything after that.
