Fe Fi Fo Fum
I can feel the presence of someone
Somebody's been sleeping in my bed
Somebody's been sitting in my chair
They ate up all my food
And I don't stand to search
Don't ell me it was a woman
'Cause a woman don't eat that much
My brand new silk pajama's
They're rolled up in the chair
My mind ain't playing tricks on me
Now tell me is he still here

Somebody's been sleeping in my bed
Somebody's been sitting in my chair
Cigarettes in my ashtray
And I don't even smoke
Somebody's been in my best booze
I can tell cause the seal is broke
I left my bedroom slippers
Last night underneath of my bed
And now they're in my living room
And my bed was left unmade

Somebody's been sleeping in my bed
Somebody's been sitting in my chair
Fe Fi Fo Fum
I can feel the presence of someone
Fe Fi Fo Fum
I can feel the presence of someone

Somebody's been sleeping in my bed
Somebody's been eating my food
Somebody's been looking at my shoes

Somebody's been sitting in my chair
Somebody's been sleeping in my bed

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Dru Hill's "Somebody's Sleeping in My Bed" tell the story of a man who comes home to find evidence that someone has been in his house while he was away. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the mysterious presence that the man can feel, but cannot yet see or identify. He discovers that someone has eaten his food, sat in his chair, smoked cigarettes, and even drunk from his best bottle of booze. The man is bewildered and frustrated, feeling violated by the fact that someone has invaded his personal space and taken liberties with his possessions.

As the lyrics progress, we see the man's growing frustration and sense of injustice. He refuses to believe that a woman could have been in his house and consumed so much food, and becomes increasingly suspicious of the mysterious presence. He notes that his silk pajamas have been left rolled up on a chair, and his bedroom slippers have been moved from under his bed to his living room. Despite his initial shock and disbelief, the man is now convinced that someone has been sleeping in his bed and is determined to find out who it is.

The song is a classic tale of jealousy, distrust, and suspicion. It captures the feeling of violating personal space and the urge to take revenge against the person who has trespassed. The lyrics are full of vivid imagery and relatable frustrations that make it easy for listeners to put themselves in the shoes of the man who has discovered that somebody has been sleeping in his bed.

I hate how he overlooked as a vocalist, he had such a fantastic voice. The passion in Sisqo’s voice was truly unmatched. One of the most recognizable voices in the industry.

I've been on a Dru Hill binge. "5 Steps, Never Make A Promise", "These Are The Times", " In My Bed"! Dru Hill needs to be more recognized.

So true.

@maagyk

Me too! And we don't make love anymore. Back in the day, I heard about them and never checked it out. Because of Lauryn Hill, I thought this was a person. I kept seeing Az Yet on FB videos and decided to check them on YouTube. Dry Hill was suggested. Now I'm hooked! I watch these videos at least twice a day, especially before I go to sleep. (I used to sing myself to sleep as a kid.)

@kevinhorsley8822
