Since 1980, they have toured Club Med, performed in Carnegie Hall, performed live on Turkish Television, competed in SOJAM, sung the National Anthem at Duke basketball games, and entertained audiences at countless local, out-of-state, and overseas venues. Out of the Blue has appeared on multiple BOCA (Best of College A cappella) CDs and is consistently recognized and awarded by the Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA). These girls love singing, traveling, and performing and hope to share their love of music with every audience and performance.

Yes, powerful stuff. He wrote this song about Anne. She had a poem titled 45 Mercy Street. She was a deep writer and eventually took her own life in the mid 70's, apparently after meeting with a peer regarding her book, The Awful Rowing Toward God. She was an amazing, complicated woman. How fitting that Gabriel would sing about her.

This song is based on Anne Sexton's death. She was a poet with a sad life and a sad relationship with her father.
Her poem that shocked PG was "45 Mercy Street".
Anne Sexton committed suicide, her fifth attempt, in 1974 (she threw down a glass of vodka and went into the garage, shut all the doors, started up the car, and died of carbon monoxide inhalation). She was 46.
Anne Sexton's work is very dark.
The song uses a brazilian northest rhythm, according with Djalma Corrêa, the brazilian percusionist.
The video was directed by Matt Mahurin. It's very dark...like a tribute for Anne.
FYI: The song is listed on "10 Most Depressing Songs Ever"....from NME

You don't know what it is like to be BiPolar. I do. I was diagnosed at 43. I love this video like no "normal" person can. And yes, I had a difficult relationship with my father, now dead many years. He also was "a duke among groups of men". Extremely handsome and sociable.
