1) A Norwegian rock band from Trondheim.
They started up in the late 1970s as a punk band under the name Wannskrækk. Wannskrækk released one of the most sought-after Norwegian punk seven inches called "Faen kuler treffer aldri riktig" in 1981, the year after the Wannskrækk 12" was released. Wannskrækk moved on and reinvented themselves with a new name and a somewhat new sound in 1985.
This shift invoked the beginning of one of the greatest success stories in Norwegian rock ever. The new name, DumDum Boys, was taken from a song on the album "The Idiot" by Iggy Pop. Their debut album, Blodig Alvor (na na na na na), is still regarded as one of the classic albums in Norwegian rock. The same is said for their following 1989 album, Splitter Pine. They are still the only band that have won "Spellemannsprisens Rock Category" (the Norwegian version of "Grammy Awards") three times in a row.
Third album Pstereo fulfilled the trilogy of award-winning LP's, including the two others mentioned above. The song "Splitter Pine" is one of the most well known rock-singles in the history of Norwegian rock. Since then, bass player Persi Iveland has been replaced by Aslak Dørum, who now is the song-writer alongside rock legend and guitarist Kjartan Kristiansen. Kristiansen is one of the most respected song-writers in Norway, especially because of his well written and important lyrics, sung by frontman Prepple Houmb. Sola Johnsen is still the drummer and has been that since the late 70's. He's released a solo-ep called "Verdens Beste Trommis" ("Worlds Greatest Drummer"), as a tribute to Led Zeppelin hero John Bonham.
After a seven year hiatus, they had a very successful tour in Norway during the summer of 2004. They went back into the studio in 2005 and released their critically acclaimed new album "Gravitasjon" in March 2006. "Gravitasjon" showed that DumDum Boys is still a band influenced by the punk rock scene.

Vi kan være venner
Jeg spiller monopol
Med vaskekte penger
Du kjenner ikke meg
Ikke flaxen alene
To store blå og
Så dra til deg fingrene
Vi sitter sammen
Opp hit i det
Du er mitt alibi
Jeg er ditt
Ingen kaller meg banditt
Jeg rider i hvitt
Jobber sent jobber tidlig
Halve jobben er bra regi
Krimm
Jeg kom hit før loven
Som jager skygger
Med lommelykt
De finner zilch nothing nada
Og under jorden er det happy hour
Ser jeg ut som fritt vilt
Ingen kaller meg banditt
Jeg rider i hvitt
Jobber sent jobber tidlig
Med på beina er min melodi
Ingen kaller meg banditt
Jeg rider i hvitt
Jobber sent jobber tidlig
Halve jobben er bra regi
Krimm
Ta det piano
Søk ly eller stikk
Ser jeg ut som fritt vilt
Be my guest
Vi kan være venner
Jeg spiller monopol
Med vaskekte penger
Du kjenner ikke meg
Ingen kaller meg banditt
Jeg rider i hvitt
Jobber sent jobber tidlig
Ned på beina er min melodi
Ingen kaller meg banditt
"Krimm" is a song by Norwegian rock band, DumDum Boys. The lyrics of the song depict the story of a criminal, who is unidentifiable and undercover. The song begins with the singer inviting someone to be his friend and play monopoly with real money. The person doesn't know him, and he describes himself as unassuming, with blue eyes, and a Smith & Wesson gun with him. The singer asks the other person not to take his fingers, and they sit together out of sight in an upper place. He uses her as an alibi, and she uses him too. At the same time, we learn that he is a criminal and a lawbreaker, but he is still not a bandit. His job involves working day and night, and he has to direct others as well.
The chorus of the song describes the singer as someone who came before the law, chasing shadows with a flashlight, and always managing to come out unscathed. He continues to say that underground, it is a happy hour, and he is never caught. He repeats that nobody calls him a bandit, as he rides in white and works hard all day and even late at night. In the end, he tells the other person to calm down and seek refuge or run away when they are in danger, and reminds them that he doesn't look like an easy target.
Overall, the song tells the story of a criminal, who is good at his job and never gets caught. He may be unidentifiable, but he doesn't seem to worry about the law. The song features rock and punk styles, with fast guitar riffs and a rhythmic drumbeat. The lyrics are dark and poetic, telling a tale of criminality, danger, and a double life.
