Police Brutality
EXARSIS Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cases of unspeakable acts
Obsessed tactics of submission
Delusions of grandeur created by guns
Oppressing minorities
INCENSERE vile and cruel
Insatiable need of law enforcement
Excessive force
JOY THROUGH VIOLENCE
Intimidation
Devoid of empathy
Guarding their LIES
Immutable situation
Taking stock of their VICE
POLICE MISCONDUCT
Corrupted minds think alike of
Malicious insidious ways
To the detriment of those awake
Ruling the mob with deviant means
Handcuffing outsiders
BELLIGERENT to us all
Ignoring drug dealers
Do does the deal is on
Attacking the weak, always unrelenting
Ignoring their original cause
Losing our trust, people looking with disgust
Supposing to protect us, but you fooled us all
You fools!
Malfunction of law
Hitting women and kids
PUPPETS ON THEIR strings
The lyrics to Exarsis's song Police Brutality are a powerful condemnation of the excessive and violent tactics used by law enforcement agencies against peaceful demonstrators and minorities. The song describes cases of "unspeakable acts" committed by police officers who are "obsessed" with maintaining control through "delusions of grandeur created by guns." The lyrics suggest that law enforcement has become a tool of "political repression" used by "the Big Man" to oppress and intimidate the people.
The song also critiques law enforcement's use of excessive force, their seeming "joy" in using violence, and their lack of empathy for the people they are supposed to protect. Exarsis suggests that law enforcement is a corrupt institution that uses "malicious insidious ways" to maintain power, handcuffing and attacking those who dissent or who are perceived as weak.
The final verse of the song is particularly damning, accusing law enforcement of "hitting women and kids" and acting as "puppets on their strings," suggesting that they are not only corrupt but also completely controlled or manipulated by outside forces. Overall, the song is a forceful condemnation of police brutality and the misuse of power by those in law enforcement.
