echostream's debut album "Identity" was released in 2005. It is a mostly ambient studio album, recorded and produced by Tony with the help of a few other musicians. This album includes a completely electronic cover version of the famous Radiohead song, "Creep", as well as echostream's original "Just Kill Me" and "Shadow on the Cloud". This last song was made into a music video by Mark Miremont. Shot completely in the post-Katrina ruins of New Orleans' Ninth Ward, the video is a sobering reminder of the power of nature.
The band's second album, "The Duality of Courage" is a heavier, more energized offering, and features all of the current band members: Tomo, Jen, and CJ. This album features fan favorites such as "Dragon," "What You Are," and "Way Forward."
echostream can be seen live on stage at various festivals around the United States, and in smaller venues around their home territory, the Northeast.
Fall down
Echostream Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Echostream's song Fall Down speak to the idea of cyclical patterns and the inevitability of change. The repetition of "we were here before we keep coming back for more" indicates that the singer is familiar with the experience of going through the same motions over and over again. The line "we're pulled into the shadows" suggests that there is an element of darkness or ambiguity in the singer's experience of this recurring pattern. They feel misunderstood and unable to be fully seen for who they are.
This feeling is reinforced by the line "even though I told you I looked inside but nothing there" which suggests that the singer has attempted to be vulnerable and reveal their true self to others, but have not been met with understanding or acceptance. This leads them to want to hide, but they don't know where. The lines "nothing stops the same but nobody is to blame it doesn't matter anyway" convey a sense of resignation and perhaps even nihilism. The singer seems to be suggesting that the constant cycle of creation and destruction is inevitable and ultimately meaningless.
The chorus of the song, with the repeated refrain "built up inside, let it out, it dies inside just let out" speaks to the idea that holding onto emotions and experiences can lead to pain and despair. The image of staring at the sun and watching the whole world come undone represents a moment of crisis and upheaval. In the end, the song seems to be about the struggle to find meaning and connection in a world that can feel chaotic and impermanent.
