She Looks So Perfect
Ed Sheeran Lyrics

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Simmer down, simmer down
They say we're too young now to amount to anything else
But look around
We work too damn hard for this just to give it up now
If you don't swim, you'll drown
But don't move, honey
You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart

And I know now, that I'm so down (whoa)

Hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Hey, hey
Hey, hey

Let's get out, let's get out'
Cause this deadbeat town's only here just to keep us down
While I was out, I found myself alone just thinking
If I showed up with a plane ticket
And a shiny diamond ring with your name on it
Would you wanna run away too?
'Cause all I really want is you
You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down

Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down

Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down
You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art

I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down

Overall Meaning

The song "She Looks So Perfect" by Ed Sheeran is a playful and catchy tune that tells the story of a young couple in love. The chorus repeats the line, "You look so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear," which immediately sets the tone for the song as light-hearted and flirty. The opening lines set up the idea that the couple is facing criticism for their age and inability to achieve anything noteworthy, but they are determined to succeed in their love and in their lives.

The second verse shows the singer, who is assumed to be the male in the relationship, dreaming about a life where he can provide for his love in a more tangible way. He imagines himself showing up with a shiny diamond ring and a plane ticket to whisk her away from their deadbeat town. Despite the challenges they face, the two are committed to each other and willing to fight to make their dreams come true.

The lyrics are a celebration of young love, ambition, and the idea that anything is possible when you have someone you love by your side. The upbeat tempo and catchy chorus make it a popular choice for parties, weddings, and other events where dancing is encouraged.

Josh R. 5 sos did write this song, I DONT know what made them say ed sheeran wrote it because 5sos names are literally on the credits .

I cant find a single source that says ed wrote this... idk who the members of 5sos are, so it was probably their names 🤷‍♂️

Subsribe for nothing 20k without video challenge after you listen to the song look at the credits, it says Michael, Ashton, and calum, not ed sheeran, so no he did not write this song .

This is why I love 5SOS and the fandom. Because we don't hate constantly on other artists who cover any of 5SOS' songs like other fandoms do a lot. We compliment them and it's really really nice. I completely understand that there are people from other fandoms who do like 5SOS' covers and respect them because I've seen them in the comment sections of videos. But then there are others who just hate on 5SOS and the fandom. It REALLY aggravates me. I wish people could just respect each other because we all have different tastes in music. Also, I don't just mean 5SOS. I mean other fandoms as well. Every person out there can have an opinion and you can think an artist is bad but don't insult them and say really rude things because there are people who will think that artist is awesome. There's no need to hate on anyone because of their taste in music.

I'm not a 5sos fan, but i agree with this, i have seen other fandoms hating on covers too much and i didnt see any such thing here❤️

Ed sheeran is a role model for 5sos
