Fisher then became a founding member of the Leo's Five Band and decided to settle down in St. Louis, Missouri.
Eddie Fisher worked as Albert King's bandleader before embarking on a solo career. He released two classic albums, "The Third Cup" and "The Next One Hundred Years", blending soul, funk, jazz and touches of psychedelia, in the late 1960's.
Eddie Fisher's third album "Hot Lunch" was released on the All Platinum label, and after that he launched his own indie operation Nentu. In 2004, he was voted into the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame.

Remember
Eddie Fisher Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
One little smile, and after a while, a longing to forget
One little heartache left as a token
One little plaything carelessly broken
Remember the night
The night you said, "I love you"
Remember?
Remember you vowed
By all the stars above you
Remember?
Remember we found a lonely spot
And after I learned to care a lot
You promised that you'd forget me not
But you forgot
To remember
Into my dreams you wandered it seems, and then there came a day
You loved me too, my dreams had come true, and all the world was
May
But soon the Maytime turned to December
You had forgotten, do you remember?
The song "Remember" by Eddie Fisher & The Hugo Winterhalter Orchestra explores the bittersweet aftertaste of a momentary romance. The lyrics unveil the intricacies of a fleeting love, emphasizing how a simple kiss could lead to hours of regret and how a smile could eventually turn into a painful memory that one desperately wants to forget. The song reflects on how a promise of forever could be reduced to mere words and how a heart could be carelessly broken like a plaything. The chorus of the song, "Remember the night, the night you said 'I love you,' remember?" suggests that the singer is pleading his past lover to recall the night when they professed their love for each other and how it was supposed to last a lifetime.
The song's opening and closing stanzas are particularly impressive as they contrast the May-December symbolism, which is often used in literature to denote youth and old age. The lyrics begin with "One little kiss, a moment of bliss, then hours of deep regret" hence conveying the ephemeral experience of a youthful romance that quickly fades into regret, while the last lines "But soon the Maytime turned to December, You had forgotten, do you remember?" symbolize the memories of distant winter, where the once-blooming May flowers have long withered, and so have the promises of a lasting romance.

I agree with you about Eddie being the best singer of popular music in the 20th century. A great entertainer too. And a lovely person. I found him to be sweet, even though he wore his heart on his sleeve. No matter, you can't deny him his talent, charm and charisma.
