Butterfly
Eden Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If I could only be a butterfly
I would stay up all night
I would haunt your house
And in your bed
While you're asleep
I'd whisper in your ear
I love you boy,
I love you

If I could only be a butterfly
I'd never reach the ground
I could see the fireflies
And in your bed
While you're asleep
I'd whisper in your ear
I wanna take you once
I'll take you twice

Get on
Get off
Get on
Get off
Don't leave me unplugged
Get on
Get off
Get on
Get off
Don't leave me unplugged

I have only come to see you shine
I want to undress your mind
There's room for us both to fly
Just let me undress your mind

If I could only be a butterfly
I would love all night
I'd colour your skies
And in your bed
While you're asleep
I'd whisper in your ear
You've left a bunch of stars
In my hand

Get on
Get off
Get on
Get off
Don't leave me unplugged
Get on
Get off
Get on
Get off
Don't leave me unplugged

I have only come to see you shine
I want to undress your mind

There's room for us both to fly
Just let me undress your mind

The lyrics of Eden's song "Butterfly" depict the singer's desire to be with their lover intimately. The idea of being a butterfly that could flutter around their room at night seems appealing, as they could whisper loving words into their ear whilst they are asleep. The lyrics "I have only come to see you shine, I want to undress your mind, There's room for us both to fly, Just let me undress your mind" suggest that the singer wants to get intimate with their lover emotionally and physically. They hint at the possibility of the two of them flying together, indicating a sense of freedom from their inhibitions.

The chorus of "Get on, Get off, Don't leave me unplugged" could reference the singer's desire to be connected to their lover, never to be disconnected. According to the in Greek mythology, Psyche was a human princess who married Eros, the God of Love. After proving her worth to Aphrodite, she became the Greek Goddess of the Human Soul.

@poisonstrategy

if im correct didnt she get a face full of death from persephone and then she got revived by eros and then became a god? that’s what i know

@tuantran4880

@@poisonstrategy No, Persephone and Eros have nothing to do or connection with Ariadne. Actually, it's just a bunch of fake rumors to lie, confuse, and fool you. Sometime, the bunch of fake rumors make you feel obsessed, confused, and don’t know which parts are telling the truth about Ariadne and how did she become immortal as Goddess of Labyrinths and Paths as wife of Dionysus?

@tuantran4880

@@poisonstrategy Also, I want you that don’t believe, mention, or listen to the Orphic Hymns. Because that rumors were Such a Liar 🤥, nonsense, bullshit, it’s wasn’t true, it’s falsehood, and I don’t believe the Orphic hymns. Moreover, I will never forgive those people who use bad, fake, and false rumors that tell lies about Zagreus, including his elder sister Melinoe. Because minor Gods and Goddesses are immortal; also, tell us the true about who are the real birth parents.

@tuantran4880

@@poisonstrategy In addition, I always believe that Melinoe and Zagreus are immortal deities and they were children of Persephone and their father was actually Hades, not Zeus. Just because I heard many children was said that they were children of Zeus, just because it’s kinda like selfish, sassy, confusion, falsehood, and at least I would like to hear the others children of the other Gods and Goddesses like children of Poseidon, children of Demeter, children of Ares, children of Aphrodite, children of Apollo, and children of Hermes. Also, I wonder what happened if evil Hera find out and kill them, and who gonna take that responsible. This is the why I hate about the Orphic Hymns because it’s telling lie, falsehood and wasn’t true. In fact, I always believe that Hecate was daughter of Perses (God of Destruction) and Asteria (Goddess of Star), Euterpe was a Muse of Music 🎵 and Joyful, Chrysothemis of Crete was son of Demeter and Carmanor of Crete, Aglaea and Euphrosyne were daughters of Zeus and Eurynome.
