Since 2004 he brings together different european cultures, chanting in local Zurich-patois, Italian and English. About three years ago he hooked up with the backing band βThe Dubby Conquerorsβ and they havenβt looked back ever since. In 2007 they recorded their first album βbeweg diβ (make a move) at the Scrucialists OneDrop Studios, which was released in October 2007.
The album's first single βGib mer mehβ received airplay on several national Swiss radio stations and stayed in heavy-rotation for months. The following two singles/videoclips were also heavily promoted on national tv and radio stations.
But the true core of his success is a live show so energetic and fully vibes-loaded, that - no matter where or when - you just can't resists dancing. Since the album release in Oct 2007, Elijah is constantly on tour, not only successfully crossing the language barrier between the French and the German part of Switzerland, but also playing shows all over central Europe.
Live Up
Elijah Lyrics

Inside this box I can't change the situation
I need some breathing holes
We're the first so we eat three meals a day
When the third would be so lucky to have one
What can I say? It's a tragedy
There must be something that can be done
Consumer society consuming the lives of all the people who can barely stay alive
It's hear all over so we're all desensitized
To the reality of taking the lives of our neighbors overseas
But's reality so what can be done
Consumer society consuming the lives of all the people who can barely stay alive
I hear solutions from a million sources but none of them seem to make a dent
What can I do poke my breathing holes in this box I'm in 'cause
Consumer society consuming peoples' lives
And all they wanna do is simple stay alive while we thrive
The lyrics of Elijah's song "Live Up" tackle the issue of consumerism in society and its impact on people's lives. The first few lines set the tone for the song, as Elijah acknowledges his feeling of being trapped inside the "perpetuation of a consumer nation." He laments the fact that he cannot change the situation, which is akin to being locked up in a box without any breathing holes. What follows is an introspective realization of how privileged he is as a first-world citizen who has access to three meals a day. Elijah laments the fact that there are people who live in other parts of the world who cannot afford one meal a day, and questions why this is so. He sees this as a tragedy, and wonders whether there is something that can be done to change the situation.
The chorus of the song highlights the irony of how consumer society is consuming the lives of people who are already struggling to stay alive. Elijah underscores how people have become desensitized to the reality of taking the lives of others overseas, as they are blinded by their own materialistic needs. He acknowledges that he has heard solutions from different sources, but none of them seem to make a dent. In the end, he realizes that the only thing he can do is poke some holes into the box he is in, as a metaphor for creating a small degree of change or action towards a more sustainable future.
Overall, the lyrics of "Live Up" are deeply introspective and highlight how the dominant consumerist culture is causing a lot of harm, not just to the environment, but also to people who are already struggling to make ends meet. Elijah's voice speaks to those who are aware of these issues, but aren't sure how to make a meaningful change.
