Her unique vocal stylings and abstract, indecipherable lyrics have generated much debate over the years, but she has often been circumspect on the matter when asked about it.
The Cocteau Twins were signed to Ivo Watts Russel's record label 4AD and Fraser found herself contributing to Russel's 'supergroup' This Mortal Coil which showcased the talents of his stable. Her most notable performance was probably on Song to the Siren; a beautifully haunting cover of the Tim Buckley song which enjoyed a considerable covert success in the late '80s.
Fraser has also recorded with Ian McCulloch (of Echo and the Bunnymen) and Massive Attack as well as featuring on the soundtrack to The Lord of Rings movie trilogy.

Olórin, who once was...
Sent by the Lords of the West
To guard the lands of the East
Wisest of all Maiar
What drove you to leave
That which you loved?
Mithrandir, Mithrandir O Pilgrim Grey
No more will you wander the green fields of this earth
Your journey has ended in darkness.
The bonds cut, the spirit broken
The Flame of Anor has left this World
A great light, has gone out.

There is another lest we forget..Two woman with just incredible voices..i wish one day I could hear them both together Lisa Gerrard and Liz Fraser have some of the most haunting voices on the planet..Somebody on the planet must get these two together before it's too late

I'm in total agreement. Gerrard has done more music in Hollywood movies; but, it appears Peter Jackson is starting to change that perspective.

I've seen you comment on a few other Frazer videos about Gerrard, and I'm into it!

I remember when this song faded in with the scene.. I got this wave of goosebumps... tears came out instantly... I knew it was Elizabeth... but I didn't know she was hired to do vocals..I just thought it was all enya.. never felt anything like that in a film since.

My reaction was exactly the same, when, I first heard it. Other people, kept insisting it was Enya; but, only Elizabeth has this particular sound.

Only Frazer can bring to life the elven world with her voice.

I nearly cried when I recognized Liz's voice in the theater. They could of put that scene on replay and I would've been happy. Of all the commercial movies out there, I'm glad someone had the foresight to put in a little of the old ethereal 4AD, which always recalled a sense of a netherworld or Middle Earth.

Among the few 'originators' among the groups from the 80s and 90s, the 'Cocteau Twins' for me were always outstanding.
They had found their very own special way to express themselves. Robin Guthrie's unique guitar sound and treatments,
Simon Raymonde's subtle, fine contributions to the arrangements - and Elizabeth's intriguing charismatic voice, her wide range of notes and expression. Still one of the very best British singers in my opinion. This song gave me chicken-skin,
again. She never failed me there.
