Thrill of Your Love
Elvis Presley Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Of a great millionaire
I have reached for a bright star above
But the thrill of it all
To me seems so small
When compared to the thrill of your love
I'd rather give (I'd rather give) everything (Give everything)
Than to be all alone and unloved
For no earthly price and no sacrifice
Is too much to give
For your love
I'd rather give (I'd rather give) everything (Give everything)
That I own (that I own) in this world (Own this world)
Than to be all alone and unloved
For no earthly price and no sacrifice
Is too much to give
For your love
The lyrics of "Thrill of Your Love" by Elvis Presley convey a deep and powerful message about the true value of love. The singer speaks of how they have wished for material wealth and accomplishments, reaching for the stars and trying to achieve greatness in their life. However, they soon come to realize that all these things are insignificant when compared to the joy and excitement that comes with being in love.
The lyrics emphasize that true love is worth more than anything else in the world, and that the singer is willing to sacrifice everything they have to be with the person they love. The singer expresses that they would give up all their possessions, fame, and accomplishments just to have the love of their partner.
The song is a testament to the enduring power of love and the joy it brings to one's life. It encourages listeners to value and cherish the people they love, and to prioritize their relationships above all else.

@Jeffrey Kaufmann Yes, I know he supposedly got 50% of Elvis's earnings. Jailhouse rock paralleled somewhat the situation, except in the movie Elvis changed the agreement to give the manager a much lower percentage. Colonel Tom Parker, was Dutch, not Hungarian, by the way.
