Tears are running down my face
I start to realize, all the things that I once said
I promised you the world
It's nothing more than you deserve
It's killing me inside, to know I put you through this hell
Take away my heart
I never meant to make you cry
California calling twenty miles to go
And I don't, I don't know
Should I turn around or should I leave you alone?
No, I don't, I don' t know
I don't know
No, I don't know
I'm on the road and it feels so cold outside
It's driving me insane, to know how much you hurt tonight
Take away my heart, it doesn't want to work no more
I never meant to make you cry
California calling twenty miles to go
And I don't, I don't know
Should I turn around or should I leave you alone?
No, I don't, I don't know
California calling twenty miles to go
And I don't, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know
California calling twenty miles to go
And I don't, I don't know
Should I turn around or should I leave you alone?
No, I don't, I don't know
I don't know
No, I don't know
No, I don't know
Gotta keep on moving on
Gotta keep on moving on
Gotta keep on moving on
California calling
Gotta keep on moving on
Gotta keep on moving on
Gotta keep on moving on
California calling
The song "California Callin" by Enrique Iglesias is a melancholy ballad about regret and the pain of losing someone. The lyrics describe the pain of a breakup and the feeling of needing to escape from it. The singer is driving through the night, tears running down his face as he reflects on the things he said to his former lover. He promised her the world but couldn't deliver, and now he's filled with guilt and remorse for putting her through such hell. As he gets closer to his destination, the titular California, he's faced with a decision: should he turn around and try to make things right, or should he leave her alone and keep moving forward?
Throughout the song, the singer's emotions are raw and palpable. He's filled with regret and sorrow, yet there's a sense of urgency in his voice that suggests he's not ready to give up on this relationship just yet. The repetition of the line "California calling" adds to the feeling of urgency and desperation in the song, as though the singer is being pulled towards something he both longs for and fears.
Overall, "California Callin" is a poignant and emotional song that captures the pain of heartbreak and the struggle to move on from a failed relationship.
