فـما اخـتارَهُ مُـضْنى بـه وله عقْلُ
وعِـشْ خـالياً فـالحُبّ راحتُهُ عَناً
وأَوّلُــهُ سُـقْـمٌ وآخـرُهُ قَـتْلُ
ولـكنْ لـديّ الـموتُ فـيه صَبابةً
حـياةٌ لـمَن أهـوى عليّ بها الفضل
نـصحْتُك عِـلماً بالهَوَى والذي أرى
مـخالَفَتي فـاختر لـنفسكَ مـا يحلو
شـهـيداً وإلاّ فـالغرامُ لـهُ أهْـل
فـمن لـم يـمُتْ فـي حُبّه لم يَعِشْ به
ودون اجـتناءِ النّحل ما جنتِ النّحل
وقُـلْ لـقتيلِ الـحبّ وَفّـيتَ حقّه
ولـلمدعي هيهاتِ ما الكَحَلُ الكَحْل
The song "Cet Amour N'est Pas Chose Facile" by Ensemble Ibn Arabi talks about the complexities of love and the sacrifices one may have to make for it. The lyrics start with the notion that love is not an easy thing, and one should surrender themselves completely to it, as choosing love is not easy, and it requires someone to suffer and use their intellect. Otherwise, they will never experience the sweet honey of love, much like the bees who do not produce honey without collecting nectar.

نـصحْتُك عِـلماً بالهَوَى والذي أرى
I advise you with knowledge of love, as I see it.
مـخالَفَتي فـاختر لـنفسكَ مـا يحلو
If my view contradicts yours, choose for yourself what you find pleasing.
فـإن شـئتَ أن تحيا سعيداً فمُتْ بِهِ
If you want to live a happy life, die for love.
شـهـيداً وإلاّ فـالغرامُ لـهُ أهْـل
Either as a martyr or in love, both are noble choices.
فـمن لـم يـمُتْ فـي حُبّه لم يَعِشْ به
Those who don’t die in love have never really lived.
ودون اجـتناءِ النّحل ما جنتِ النّحل
Without the gathering of bees, there is no honey.
وقُـلْ لـقتيلِ الـحبّ وَفّـيتَ حقّه
Tell the victim of love that you have fulfilled their rights.
ولـلمدعي هيهاتِ ما الكَحَلُ الكَحْل
To those who falsely claim to understand love, a dark coloring agent (kohl) is of no use.
