See the Rider
Eric Burdon Lyrics

Oh, see, see see rider
Girl, see, what you've done
Oh, oh, oh, see see rider
See, what you've done now
You've gone away and left me
No, no, no, and now the blues have come
Oh, yes, they do

Oh, well, I'm goin', goin' away, baby
And I won't be back 'til fall
Oh, yes, I'm goin', goin' away, baby
And I won't be back 'til fall
If I get me a good lookin' woman
No, no, no, I won't be back at all, alright, baby

See see rider, I love you, yes, I do
And there isn't one thing darlin'
I would not do for you
You know, I love you, see, see
I want you ride by my side
See see rider, ough, keep me satisfied
See see rider, see see rider, see see rider
See see rider, see see rider
They keep on ridin', see rider, keep on ridin', man
Here I come, look out, baby
Here I come, beat it, don't leave it
Don't move it now, look out

Here I come, come on, baby
It's alright, she's so fine, she's all mine
Jenny, take a ride now, hey

Oh, well, I'm goin', goin' away, baby
And I won't be back 'til fall
Oh, yes, I'm goin', goin' away, baby
And I won't be back 'til fall
If I find me a good lookin' woman
Oh, Lord, I won't be back at all
It's a true
Listen, I'm goin', alright
Somebody told me about Joe Jackson, and I know, yo
Ough!

I sat in on drums one night in Atlanta w/ the Eric Burdon Band & he asked me what I wanted to play. Without hesitation I screamed: "See See Rider!" It was great, & I soaked up every second. We played this exact original arrangement by the Animals, which was of course a hit record for them in the '60s! Scratch one off the bucket list, lol. Many versions by just about everybody down thru the years but this has always been my favorite and, I believe, best version of it. There's no doubt that ERIC BURDON OWNS THIS TUNE!!

You lucky dog. I met a lot of big stars like Jimi and Janis but I never met Eric and I always wanted to. He did a fantastic job on "Monterrey." That kicked it off.

Yes,overlooked but one of the most memorable for me also. I taped the song on a Sony reel to reel tape ...😵‍💫...from a tiny transistor radio.. as it was playing...😂...I was 11 or 12 ....so even though it must have sounded like crap, it was so energizing and powerful to me then ! 👌Still is 57 years later ! 🤩🤫

@garydavis3496

I take Eric's voice as a daily tonic. Animals forever! A true source of raw power.
