Djédjé began playing music at fifteen when he became a guitarist with Ivoiro Star, a leading dopé band, in 1962. He moved to Paris in 1968 and became a student. He continued to perform and made his first recording with Anoma Brou Felix in 1970 with the help of Manu Dibango.
In 1972, he returned to his homeland to lead the San Pedro Orchestra. He later formed a band called Les Ziglibithiens and pioneered a musical style called Ziglibithy based on a kind of Bété roots music combined with Congolese rhythms. Djedje's Ziglibithy is highly syncopated dance music, in which the sinuous guitar lines are punctuated with fat horns.
Djedje recorded his first solo album in 1977, calling it Ziboté with producer Gbadamassi Raïmi. Another album, Le Roi du Ziglibithy, was released on Badmos Records in 1977. He also released albums entitled Aguisse (also on Badmos Records), Tizere and Zouzoup Ale. All of these vinyl LP's are rare today, although Le Roi du Ziglibithy, which is arguably Djedje's best record, has been reissued on CD by Popular African Music, headquartered in Germany.
Ivoirian president Houphouet Boigny honored him for his contributions to national culture in 1982. Djédjé died suddenly of an untreated ulcer in 1983 at 35, although many claim that he was poisoned.

Love the song Golozo and want to know the meaning
@MartySparrow
@Teddy Gebremichael, Based on the translation from bété to french from Joel Gnali and Carol BKS (comments below) we can say that the whole song is to be listened to as advices, which main idea is ‘’life is short, so have fun and keep in mind that things are not always what they seem to be’’. This is my translation, guys, feel free to correct if I’m wrong; but I didn’t translate literally, I tried to keep close to the deep meaning; as these are proverbs the first meaning is not always the one to take in account.
Zibote = enjoy the dance, have fun dancing
-Sisters (ladies) as you dance, shake your breasts, enjoy your dancing _ zibote(x2)
-If a spear hit you on a critical spot, then it has been thrown by a close relative of yours (things hurt more when they come from a close relative, if something hurt you, then whoever said or did it is dear to you)
-Handsome guys are always cool with people
I Djedje (Ernesto Djedje) am a handsome guy and I’m cool with people (a man’s real beauty is to be found in his interactions with people; also being relax is attractive)
(…)
(…)
-My sisters, (ladies) white man sophistication (culture, habits, language, civilization…) is not as good as it seems
-Death is not so picky to say ‘’this one is the eldest so I’ll take him and let the younger one alive’’
Listen to what I say
Listen to what I say
-Zuzu (bird) fly to God’s place, The bird is flying toward God (didn’t got this one very well maybe something like ‘’freedom leads to God’’ ‘’ or freedom is God’s will’’ ...maybe)
