Cry To Me
Eruption Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Cry - cry - cry - crying
Cry - cry - cry - crying

When your baby leaves you all alone
And nobody calls you on the phone
Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying?
Hey come on
Come on
Cry to me.

When you're all alone in your lonely room
And there's nothing but the memories of him
Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying?
Hey come on
Come on
Cry to me.

Hey don't you feel like
Cry - cry - cry - crying
Hey don't you feel like
Cry - cry - cry - crying

When your baby leaves you all alone
And nobody calls you on the phone
Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying
Hey Don't you feel like you're crying?
Hey come on
Come on
Cry to me.

Hey don't you feel like
Cry - cry - cry - crying
Hey don't you feel like
Cry - cry - cry - crying

Ooh nothing can be sadder then
A glass of wine alone.
Loneliness oh lonelliness
Is such a waste of time.
Oh yes, you don't ever
Have to walk out alone
Don't you see?
So come on and take my hand
Oh baby won't you walk with me?

When you're waiting for a voice to call
In the night where there is no one to take your hand

Don't you feel like you're crying
Don't you feel like you're crying
Hey Don't you feel like you're crying

Cry - cry - cry - cry

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Eruption's song Cry to Me speak to the heartache and loneliness that comes with a relationship ending abruptly. The first stanza describes the feeling of being left alone with no one to turn to. The repetition of "cry-cry-cry-crying" reinforces the sadness of the situation. The chorus, "don't you feel like you're crying," serves as a plea for the listener to accept their sadness and embrace it. The second stanza portrays the sadness one feels when alone, surrounded only by memories of the past. The repetition of the chorus suggests that crying is a release of emotions and this can be cathartic.

The bridge provides some comfort with a message of companionship, drinking alone is sad and it does not have to be that way. The lyrics, "Oh yes, you don't ever have to walk out alone, don't you see? So come on and take my hand," suggest that the singer is offering comfort to the listener. The final stanza mirrors the first in its description of being alone and isolated without someone to comfort you. Overall, the lyrics are a plea for the listener to acknowledge their feelings of sadness and to find solace in the common human experiences we all share.
