Party Time
Evasion Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everything is gone and everyone has changed. All before I coule percieve it as being all too fucking basic. Running through the memories like life isn't getting any better than yesterday. I've said it 1000 times, if I could live that summer forever, I'd give up everything if we could just stay where we are. No second thoughts of tommorrow. All our lives, we're searching for that moment, the moment to define us. And once we live that moment we'll never let it go. Well this is what I've found and I'll never let this go. Those days will always replay in my head. no one can take away the fucking past

Overall Meaning

In Evasion's song Party Time, the lyrics talk about the feeling of nostalgia for a time in the past where everything felt perfect, and how it seems like everything has changed since then. The singer expresses their disappointment in how life has become "all too fucking basic" and reminisces on the memories they have from that summer that they would give up everything to go back to. The lyrics capture the desperation of wanting to stay in a moment where there were no second thoughts about tomorrow and how that moment defined the singer's life.

The lyrics also touch on the idea that everyone searches their entire life for a moment that defines who they are, and once they experience that moment, they hold onto it tightly. For the singer, that moment was that perfect summer, and they vow to never let those days go. The use of strong language, such as "fucking" and "everything is gone," conveys the singer's deep emotions and how strongly they feel about this moment in time.

Overall, Evasion's Party Time captures the feeling of nostalgia for a time that felt perfect and how it feels like everything has changed since then. The lyrics express a longing to go back to that moment where life felt perfect and the desperation to hold onto that moment tightly.

I would suck at this one.
Tradies are typically self employed.
Once they’re income hits 75k they need to register for GST.
This idea that tradies pay more tax isn’t correct. The tax you pay is based on the income you earn.
They're are tools available now so they can accurately log their expenses to offset their income but they don't want to do this because it's 'too hard'.

The other problem is perspective. The more you earn, the more you spend.

If you work for an employer, they withhold for you, you get $90 that is your $90 and if something costs $100 you can't buy it no matter how desperate you are.

Self employed, they get $100, they need to put aside $10, something costs $100, they are just as desperate but they have it, so they spend it. End of the year they now owe $10,000 because it snow balls.

I’m not saying they are selfish, that $100 could be their rent but the reality of the situation is the person with the $90 cannot spend money they don’t have where the self employed person can.

But this information isn’t why I would suck at this.
I would suck at it because I know that tax laws are written by the large firms who represent those who don’t pay tax. They aren't doing anything illegal they are all complying with their obligations.

The ATO annual report is public information. It shows everything they do because they have to be open and transparent on every cent they spend. Have a look at all the stuff on the cash economy, do you really think they don’t know? They will, and collecting that revenue doesn't tie up the courts.

Lastly, privacy laws.
Tradies jump up and down about how the tax office is going after them.
Large corporations don’t because they know that not paying your tax obligations is trading insolvent.

Richer people can avoid taxes easier, because they have the disposable cash to pay someone else to sort it all out for them.

@codingninja1 it might be deductible but only from next year’s taxes, you still have to pay them upfront for now though.
