Up the creek
Goin' down the wrong way
On a one-way street
I ain't got the sense
That the good Lord gave a goose
But I sure got one thing
I got love, super love
Super duper love for you
I ain't no doctor, ain't got no PhD
When you talk about love
You better talk to me
I got love, super duper love
I ain't too good lookin',
Won't be no movie king
Won't be no Elvis
Up on the silver screen
Can't be no teacher
No nuclear scientist
If you ain't been kissed by me, baby
You ain't been kissed
I got love, super love
Super duper love for you
I ain't no doctor, ain't got no PhD
When you talk about love
You better talk to me
I got love, super duper love
I ain't no doctor, ain't got no PhD
When you talk about love
You better talk to me
I got love for you
I got super duper love for you
The lyrics to Exile's song "Superlove" are about a man who may not have much going for him in terms of intelligence or looks, but he has a powerful love that he wants to share with the listener. He acknowledges that he is not the ideal partner, as he is "off the wall" and "going down the wrong way," but he assures the listener that he has something special to offer. He describes his love as "super" and "super duper," and emphasizes that he is the one to talk to about love, not some fancy doctor or scientist. He even claims that if the listener hasn't been kissed by him, they haven't truly been kissed at all.
The song is a great example of the power of love to transcend social and physical barriers. The singer is not conventionally attractive or successful, but he still feels worthy of giving and receiving love. The tone of the song is upbeat and infectious, with a catchy melody and simple lyrics that are easy to sing along to. It's a testament to the idea that love can come from unexpected places and that we should never judge someone's potential for love based on their outward appearance or station in life.
