Prism
Exotype Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

As I peer into the void, my sight is multiplied

And you, you and I
Will see, we'll see this to the end
And you, you and I
Will be, will be the end of everything

You only see what you want to see, when you look at me
Your mind is your own prison
Step outside into this prism
You say what you want to say
And you will die that way
Take a breath and keep on living
Step outside into this prism

And you, you and I
Will see, we'll see perspectives bend
And you, you and I
Will be, will be the death of every dream

Tap to collect em
Attract em like crack and attack to correct em
A fact in a fax like a bat to the septum
A tax on a flag to neglect em

You only see what you want to see, when you look at me
Your mind is your own prison
Step outside into this prism
You only say what you want to say
And you will die that way
Take a breath and keep on living
Step outside into this prism

The cost of freedom isn't cheap
I'll show you what it means to me

As I peer into the void, my sight is multiplied.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Exotype's "Prism" explore themes of perspective, personal growth, and breaking free from mental limitations. The verse "As I peer into the void, my sight is multiplied" suggests a willingness to explore the unknown and to see things in a new light. The song emphasizes the idea that people tend to see only what they want to see, and that this tendency can be a prison of one's own making. The chorus encourages the listener to step outside of their mental limitations and step into the "prism," which is a metaphor for a new perspective that can lead to personal growth and greater understanding.

The lyrics are set against a backdrop of heavy guitars and driving drums, which give the song a sense of urgency and energy. The second verse features a rap interlude, which reinforces the song's themes of breaking out of old patterns of thinking and seeing things in a new way. In the end, the song emphasizes the importance of personal freedom and encourages the listener to take a breath and keep on living.

For those of you who don't know. This band is friends of mine and the reason for their songs is because they mix a lot of different type of genres of metal and rock. This is a mixture of hard rock and nu metal. Not many kids these days like yourselves will get it, because everything has to be "br00t4l" with you guys.

Angi D

But this is "br00t4l", have you not heard the intro?

RICHARD ROBERTS

I went to school with Rob. He was a trip. It's awesome to know that since the mid-2000s Rob has been a part of several bands that have gained traction. Some of his music was on MTV2 from Catalepsy and more recently I've seen Exotype's videos all over the internet!

Great job guys! Keep the good work!
