Eyehategod have noted Melvins, Black Sabbath, Black Flag, Saint Vitus, Carnivore, Swans and Flipper as key influences to their sound. These influences combined with heavy, down-tuned, bluesy riffs, walls of feedback and torturous vocals create a truly filthy, misanthropic atmosphere.
While Jimmy Bower was busy playing drums for Down, the remaining 4 members of Eyehategod formed a side-project called Outlaw Order (abbreviated to OO%). The band released a limited edition 7" EP in 2003 called Legalize Crime, which has since been re-released on CD with a bonus live track. 2008 saw the release of Outlaw Order's debut full-length, titled Dragging Down the Enforcer.

Every Thing
Eyehategod Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Go to work, go to school
Wake up at 6am
Every day
Wake up at 5am
Every day
Every thing
Kill your boss
Bitter point
Wrecked world
Damage done
Eyes stare
Never last
Rested soul
Never come back
Kill your boss
The lyrics to Eyehategod's song, "Every Thing Every Day," convey a sense of anguish and frustration within the daily grind of life. The repetition of phrases like "Wake up every day" and "Every thing" emphasizes the monotony and routine that many people experience. The act of waking up early, represented by awakening at 6am and 5am, further intensifies this feeling of being trapped in a cycle.
The line "Kill your boss" suggests a deep desire for liberation from oppressive authority figures and societal constraints. It reflects the pent-up anger and resentment towards those who hold power over individuals, perhaps stemming from dissatisfaction with one's job or the oppressive nature of the workplace. The words "Wrong world," "Bitter point," and "Wrecked world" allude to a sense of disillusionment and despair, highlighting a perception of a broken and damaged society.
The phrase "Damage done, Eyes stare" reveals the psychological toll of these struggles, depicting a weariness and exhaustion that comes from enduring difficult circumstances day after day. The repetition of the phrase "Never last" and the mention of a "Rested soul" that "Never come back" suggests a longing for escape, perhaps even a desire for death as an end to the suffering. While the lyrics may be dark and provocative, they serve as a raw expression of frustration and pain within societal norms.

@billybobmybutt
I mean, the song is literally about the repetition and tediousness of standard US society to the point where you decline into insanity. Would it not make sense for the song itself to reflect that point?
@EClark-dj7gh
That's exactly what they're saying. Its about the repetitiveness of this bullshit we've been programmed to believe is life.
@billybobmybutt
@@EClark-dj7gh Yeah. A little unfortunate I had to point this out for all the people in the comments. I guess after all these years people still don't understand eyehategod. I guess that means they're still doing well.
