Read Full Bio ↴There are two known artists that have used the name Eyes Set to Kill:
1) A post-hardcore band from Phoenix, Arizona, United States.
2) A soft rock band from Melbourne, Australia.
A White Lotus traditionally represents a rebirth. Just like the beautiful flower, Eyes Set To Kill has gone through a metamorphosis. After years of being forced to conceal their aspirations, the Phoenix, Arizona-based collective finally reveal their true identity on their upcoming fourth studio album appropriately entitled White Lotus.
“It’s a symbolic name,” Alexia Rodriguez states. “We have a clear mind set, we have purity and we know exactly what we want to do with our music. We know who we are and where we want to go, and so we wanted to use a white lotus to symbolize how confident and focused we are. It’s a leap for us because we have a clearer vision of what we want.”
Down to a more concentrated four-piece, Eyes Set To Kill slowly drowned out their screamo vibe and have transformed into a metal band led by Rodriguez’s piercing vocal prowess. Tie that in with stellar musicianship, mature songwriting and an adrenaline-charged resonance, and it’s clear this explosive quartet is on the verge of redefining the genre.
Those sentiments are further backed up by smash singles like “The Secrets Between,” a heavy single about withholding the truth from a significant other; “Forget,” an intense ditty about the desire to erase your memory from terrible experience with an ex-lover; and “Where I Wanna Be,” a love song with a dark edge.
It’s a new and improved style, and they’ve spent years getting to this point.
Formed in 2003 by the Rodriguez sisters, Eyes Set To Kill’s passionate music connected with fans early on and led them to becoming one of MySpace.com’s top unsigned screamo bands in 2006. The group signed with BreakSilence/Suburban Noize Records the following year and release three critically acclaimed studio efforts – 2008’s Reach, 2009’s The World Outside and 2011’s Broken Frames.
Frustrated with the label politics, and pressure to withhold their identity, Eyes Set To Kill decided to break away and become the band they were destined to be. The metal quartet independently released White Lotus through a joint venture between their own imprint Forsee Records and Maphia Entertainment.
Eyes Set To Kill aims to make a career on their terms and the versatile White Lotus is a testament to their craft. “I’ve found that the more unique people are, the more unique their tastes are gonna be,” Rodriguez says. “So I think people that are diverse and are into all types of music, they’ll like this album because it’s diverse, but a lot heavier.”
Now, it’s time for this White Lotus to bloom.

You've got everything you've ever wanted
Its not my fault that I dug a grave so deep
Lying at the bottom
And I'm looking up
She's all I see
She's all I see
I'm slipping further down a path I thought Id never lead
he's sinking deeper now
Where are her hands?
How could you do this dear?
How could you leave him here?
Lies seeping through his skin just itching to reveal truth
There's a bottle at his side
Burning as he takes a drink, he takes a drink
Swallows with his pride
Chasing down and breaking
Self destruction never felt so sweet
Wake me up, wake me up
There's an ending I'm afraid to see
Manipulations got its strings tied tightly around my wrists
A soft heart and a softer spine trapped me in her grip
She spun a web around me so tight I could barely breathe Finished me with three words, a lie she whispered through her teeth
A four letter lie, closet full of memories
No hate in his eyes till he finds he's drowning
There's no hate in his eyes till he drowns in lies as he takes a drink
There's a bottle at his side
Burning as he takes a drink, he takes a drink
Swallows with his pride
Chasing down and breaking
Self destruction never felt so sweet
Wake me up, wake me up
There's an ending I'm afraid to see
Your time is up
Enough of the lies and sympathy
Don't make a promise you're going to break
Its not over
I'm nowhere near defeat
Who is the victim now?
I've got more spine than you think
he's overcoming this without your hands
Now that his past has cleared
Now you can leave him here
Lies seeped through his skin to release him to see the truth
there's a bottle at his side
Burning as he takes a drink, he takes a drink
Swallows with his pride
Chasing down and breaking
Self destruction never felt so sweet
Wake me up, wake me up
There's an ending I'm afraid to see
I'm afraid to see
The lyrics of "Cover Me Up" by Eyes Set to Kill explore the emotional turmoil of a love gone wrong. The song starts off with the singer acknowledging that the person he loved has everything in life that she ever wanted, but he finds himself lying at the bottom of a grave that was dug too deep. Even though the object of his affection is no longer with him, she is all he sees and he is slipping down a path he thought he would never lead.
The song chronicles the singer's descent into self-destruction, fuelled by the pain of a broken heart. He drinks heavily, numbing himself to the pain, but ultimately this only exacerbates his downwards spiral. As he becomes more and more ensnared in his self-destructive behavior, he realizes that his former lover had manipulated him, trapping him in her grip. However, he ultimately overcomes this without her help, as he realizes that he has more strength and resilience than he thought.
The song's vivid and emotive lyrics vividly capture the intense, raw emotions of a relationship gone awry. The singer's struggle to let go, and his eventual realization that he is stronger than he thought, will resonate with anyone who has had to come to terms with a difficult break-up.
