All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03
All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03
It’s the 03 call the police never switching on my team word to Kobe
Im in Europe with pop and Ginobli if I ain’t give you something you gon throw me
And I hit that swish never hit it at the back board
You only talk shit that’s what you gotta mask for
If you can’t handle the smoke then don’t ask for it
If you can’t handle the smoke then don’t ye ye
Nigga’s moving wockey
People be playing wit my feelings like it’s some hockey
Got way to much love and support so no one can stop me
Hit em wit a 1 and 2 like I am rocky
I know you is my dawg but you gotta make yo own racks
We gotta help each other out you think that ion know that
Got opportunity you a dummy if you blow
That people wanna make it out the trenches and it’s so sad
That you tryna make it in
Lil white boy from the suburbs this ain’t a game
People watch their family die and they never be the same
But you a youngin you got life so don’t pretend Ye Ye Ye
All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03
All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03
Want a GT Ye a sports car
Ima artist and a rockstar
If I rock hard I shake the room ain’t stopping till I see cop cars
Living lavish in a Jaguar got baggage avatar
Call me blue face got a bust down new Patek that goes hard
If I hold you then you said that you would hold me down
And you know I’m acting different when you come around
I wanna walk onto the stage they be like what’s that sound
And when I start talking they gon be getting loud
All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03

All I wanted was for them to know me, now they all acting like my homies
Stealing all my swag it’s a 03 I said stealing all my swag it’s a 03

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in F.J. McMahon's "03" speak to the idea of authenticity and the struggle to maintain it in the face of success. The song expresses a sense of frustration with people who were once strangers but now act like friends, possibly indicating a dissatisfaction with false camaraderie. The repeated phrase "stealing all my swag it's a 03" lends a sense of urgency to the message, suggesting that this is a pressing issue for the artist. McMahon also references Kobe Bryant and his loyalty to his team, reinforcing the importance of staying true to oneself and one's allies.

The second verse introduces a sense of unease with success, with the line "If you can't handle the smoke then don't ask for it." The artist seems to acknowledge that success comes with certain pressures and responsibilities that not everyone is suited for. McMahon also speaks to his own ambition, both in terms of material success ("Want a GT Ye a sports car") and creative achievement ("I wanna walk onto the stage they be like what's that sound"). Despite the pressure he faces, he continues to strive towards his goals.

Overall, "03" is a powerful meditation on the meaning of success, the importance of authenticity, and staying true to oneself in the face of change and growth.

Early blue, I see you through my window.
Becoming lighter as the sun gets brighter
And the night goes away.
I wanna close my eyes
And pretend it's night and quiet, so peaceful.
But the rising sun starts the day to run wherever it may go.

Go run away.
Go run away.
Go run away from my window.

In the morning's light, I try to hide from people.
But it's never right.
I see my friends at night and it works out fine.

Go run away.
Go run away.
Go run away from my window.

But I know it'll happen soon.
Early blue come to my room next morning.
And I'll try to go to sleep
............... will go have to seek my friends
Where they go, what they know.

And I run away.
And I run away.
Don't wanna see early blue today.

Hi, does anyone know how the guitar is tuned in this? It's not standard tuning, right? I'd love to learn 'Early Blue' but knowing how the guitar was tuned would be a great start!

someonewithballs

I'm playing it in standard! Its C A Major F and the chorus is F C

yorrick1971

Ha! No i just checked, thanks for the reminder - i forgot i asked about this. Verses are C Bb F and Chorus (Go, run away etc) is Am F AM F Am F C. There no A major in there that i can find.

someonewithballs

yep your right sorry i just know how to play the chords not the name of them. Thanks friend!

yorrick1971

No worries, if it hadn't been for your post i would have probably forgotten that this was on my list. It's a really nice song. When i first heard it i was convinced it must be in some kind of open tuning but it seems fine in standard. must have been my ear playing tricks on me. Happy playing :-)
