Finding their inspiration from the diverse city blocks and night club scene of Southern California, FM has built a strong internet fan base and a new lifestyle brand for the next generation of youth around the world. “The Far East Movement is the name for our music, lifestyle, and our party. For the diverse music fan that hits up 3 clubs in 1 night, tuned to the racing scene and fashion, and back on the computer religiously checking blogs and sites for anything related to that.”- FM
FM has embarked on 2 World Tours (including the USA, South America, Canada, Europe and Asia) and recently featured on the 35 city Party Rock Tour with LMFAO, signed distribution deals in Japan and Korea (Avex Network and JF Productions respectively), garnered multiple features on MTV World, and also featured music on worldwide media such as FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”, ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights, CBS Primetime shows “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: NY”, multiple placements on HBO’s “Entourage”, “Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift” and “Finishing the Game” (a featured film at Sundance 2007). FM was also the first Asian act to perform at the Sundance Film Festival’s prestigious Music Café Gala hosted by ASCAP, and was also recently a featured act at the Cannes Film Festival in France. As producers, FM worked with Jin the Emcee to create ABC JIN, an award-winning, platinum album that broke records for first week sales in Hong Kong.
In the world of marketing, the Far*East Movement has been sought out by major companies to endorse their products. They worked with McDonalds as celebrity judges and were featured artists for the national Big Mac Chant campaign and spokespersons/tour headliners for McDonald’s Lost Ring campaign during the 2008 Olympics. FM was also a featured artist for Verizon Wireless’s LG Dare ‘Touch One’ Campaign. They’ve also co-created a series of live concerts with Wong Fu Productions to benefit community outreach called the International Secret Agents with endorsements by JCPenney and Verizon.
Far East Movement’s single “Girls On The Dance Floor” has taken over clubs and radio stations around the world, reaching #1 on Los Angeles radio and charting on the Billboard Charts. On February 12th, 2010, the Far East Movement officially signed their first major label record deal with Cherrytree / Interscope Records. After 2 independent album releases and a rigorous tour schedule, the Far East Movement is in the studio working with the Stereotypes (Production team) on their 3rd album and first major release in 2010.
The original members of Far East Movement, Kevin Nishimura (Kev Nish), James Roh (Prohgress), and Jae Choung (J-Splif), grew up in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California. They were close companions in high school and shared a passion for music together. The trio promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in Los Angeles; soon, they began their musical career with the name "Emcee's Anonymous" by 2001. However, they later changed it to Far East Movement or FM, originating from a song that they produced with the same name. In 2003, they organized together an event called "Movementality" in Koreatown, LA, featuring ten different performances with all the proceeds sent to a local youth drug rehabilitation center. On September 21, 2016, S.M Entertainment, one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, announced that Chanyeol, from popular K-pop band EXO, would be collaborating with Far East Movement in their track "Freal Luv", which also features Tinashe and Marshmello.[26]

It features various Korean artists, such as Tiffany from Girls' Generation, rappers Yoon Mi-rae, Jay Park, Loco and R&B group Urban Zakapa, along with American singer-songwriter Macy Gray, rapper Soulja Boy and credits from British singer-producer MNEK. Identity debuted at #1 on the global iTunes dance charts.[citation needed] The music video for "Freal Luv" was viewed over 30 million times on YouTube.

Far East Movement
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Snoop Dogg
I bet you wake up in the morning and you kiss yourself
'Cause I would, if I was you
I bet you show up to the club and just dance with yourself
If I was you girl
Here is what I'd do girl
I'd notice me here at this table, with my crew girl
We sipping goose girl
We getting loose girl
So won't you sit up on my lap with that caboose girl
Shake it out
You ain't a dime, you's a silver dolla
It'll be a crime, if I didn't holla
Take a second, hear me out
If you still don't get it, let me spell it out
O-M-G, you're so sexy
You know you caught my eye with a B-O-O-T-Y
O-M-G, shawty's such a freak
She says she wants to go back to my C-O-N-D-O
Let's go
Let's go
I bet you hop under the covers and play with yourself
'Cause I would, if I was you
I bet you stand up in the mirror and stare at yourself
'Cause I would, if I was you
If I was you girl
It be me and you girl
Would be no question, teach you lessons in my room girl
And if you with it girl, then you can get it girl
And if you thinkin' it, let's start drinkin', let it go girl
Check it out
You ain't a dime, you's a silver dolla
It'll be a crime, if I didn't holla
Take a second, hear me out
If you still don't get it, let me spell it out
O-M-G, you're so sexy
You know you caught my eye with a B-O-O-T-Y
O-M-G shawty's such a freak
She says she wants to go back to my C-O-N-D-O
Let's go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go
The lyrics to Far East Movement's song "If I Was You" are about a man who is infatuated with a woman and imagining what he would do if he was her. He sings about how he would wake up in the morning and kiss himself if he had her beauty, go to the club and dance with himself if he had her confidence, hop under the covers and play with himself if he had her sexuality, and stand up in the mirror and stare at himself if he had her looks. The lyrics continue in a similar vein, with the man proposing various scenarios where he and the woman can be together and enjoy each other's company.
The lyrics of "If I Was You" portray the man as being very narcissistic and self-absorbed. He is so obsessed with the woman that he imagines himself being her, and he believes that he would be perfect if he had her attributes. The lyrics also suggest that the man is very confident and outgoing, as he sings about going to the club and dancing with himself, and inviting the woman to sit on his lap and shake her caboose.
Overall, the lyrics to "If I Was You" are catchy and fun, but they also raise some interesting questions about gender roles and stereotypes. The song seems to reinforce the idea that women need to be beautiful, sexy, and confident to be desirable, while men can be self-centered and egotistical as long as they have money and power. However, it's also possible to interpret the song as a playful and harmless fantasy about two people who are attracted to each other and want to have some fun.
Line by Line Meaning
I bet you wake up in the morning and you kiss yourself
I'm assuming you're feeling so good about yourself that you're sending yourself love by kissing yourself; it would be a vibe to feel that way, so I'd do exactly that if I was in your place
I bet you show up to the club and just dance with yourself
I'm guessing you have so much confidence that you don't need anybody else to dance with, so you just hit the club solo; if I had that level of self-assurance, I'd be doing the same thing too
If I was you girl
Here is what I'd do girl
If I were in your shoes, here's what I would do
I'd notice me here at this table, with my crew girl
We sipping goose girl
We getting loose girl
So won't you sit up on my lap with that caboose girl
I'd acknowledge the fact that me and my squad are having the time of our lives over here; we're drinking Grey Goose and having fun, so why don't you join us and give me a chance to admire your assets?
You ain't a dime, you's a silver dolla
It'll be a crime, if I didn't holla
Take a second, hear me out
If you still don't get it, let me spell it out
You're not only a dime but a silver dollar (even more valuable), so it would be an injustice if I didn't talk to you; listen carefully to what I have to say, and if you don't understand, I'll make it crystal clear for you
O-M-G, you're so sexy
You know you caught my eye with a B-O-O-T-Y
O-M-G, shawty's such a freak
She says she wants to go back to my C-O-N-D-O
Let's go
Oh my God, you're stunning, and your booty is what made me notice you initially; wow, you really love to have fun, and you're enticing me to take you to my condo to continue the party
I bet you hop under the covers and play with yourself
'Cause I would, if I was you
I bet you stand up in the mirror and stare at yourself
'Cause I would, if I was you
I assume you're so confident and comfortable with your body that you take pleasure in playing with yourself under the covers or admiring your reflection in the mirror; if I were in your shoes, I'd be doing those things too
If I was you girl
It be me and you girl
Would be no question, teach you lessons in my room girl
And if you with it girl, then you can get it girl
And if you thinkin' it, let's start drinkin', let it go girl
If I were in your shoes, it would be us together, and I wouldn't have to question if you'd be into coming back to my room to learn a few things; if you're down, we can make it happen, and if you're already considering it, let's start drinking and let loose
Let's go
Let's get out of here and make something amazing happen
