Faspitch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm guessing both of your eyes are swollen
The mind of swollen you don't feel
This mirror clearly isn't my friend
That's not the face I want to see
That's not the face I want to see!
I'm cracking bad, grey on the inside and days ahead, not me
I'll deal with that, deal with it later, I'm still in debt, not me
That's not the face I want to see!
Do you like how it feels?
Cause this is just the way it is, the way it is to bleed, breakdown
Hey man, they're talking about the formula
They're smoking around you
The situation's simple
It certainly seems that way
You were never central
Making up stories along the way
You were never central along the way!
Do you like how it feels?
Cause this is just the way it is, the way it is to bleed
Sucking in the oxygen the planet needs to breathe
Right between the gaps of rotting gum and blackened teeth
Isn't this the chemical that's killing you inside
Then why do you pretend to think, pretend to think
It's all you live
By the way the possibilities could multiply
It's time for you to take you box
And throw it out into the night
That's just the way it is!
Losing's just facts of life
Get out!
Do you like how it feels
Cause this is just the way it is, the way it is to bleed
Do you like how it feels?
Cause this is just the way it is, the way it is to bleed, breakdown
You were never central, that's just the way it is.
You were never central!

That's not the face I want to see!
Get out!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Faspitch's song Skin present a hauntingly introspective view of the singer's psyche as they grapple with their own self-image and mental health. The lines "I'm cracking bad, grey on the inside and days ahead, not me / I'll deal with that, deal with it later, I'm still in debt, not me" suggest a dissonance between the singer's internal struggles and their external life circumstances, as they try to postpone dealing with their issues. The refrain "Do you like how it feels? / Cause this is just the way it is, the way it is to bleed, breakdown" seems to question whether the listener has any understanding of the singer's pain and the inevitability of such suffering. The reference to the chemical that's killing the singer inside could be a metaphor for mental illness, addiction, or psychological trauma.

The chorus of "You were never central, that's just the way it is" has an air of resignation, as the singer acknowledges their lack of significance in the grand scheme of things. However, there is also a hint of defiance as they declare "That's not the face I want to see!", suggesting a desire to break free from their internal struggles and present a different image to the world. The concluding lines "Losing's just facts of life / Get out!" are another example of this dualism, as they convey a sense of acceptance of defeat but also a desire to move on and escape.

When this band started in their simple and humble beginnings, they open the mind of all cebuanos on rock songs that is based on cebuano style and angst. Udub and franco was also a big fan of this band until now, thus also made their own legacy of their own version of cebuano rock. I bare witness, on how they mold the foundation of cebuano rock songs that even a foreigner was swept by their heads when ever they hear their songs. Im proud that i was part of this generation when the rock scene in cebu was born and a new breed of rock bands emerge to create a landscape and pave the way for a rare and raw talent in the genre of Philippine rock. I can definitely say that the rock bands and rock songs here in cebu is astonishingly unique from any rock bands both local and abroad. The lyrics are legit and most all it is eargasmic till the end. I know there are tons of rock bands in cebu that still remains to be underground up to this date. Hopefully, this cebu rock will continue to evolve and grow for the next generation to come. #fastpitch #urbandub #franco #toallrockbandsincebu #blessedtobepartofthisera

Im still hoping to see a documentary on the Cebu rock scenes by cebuano indie film directors. A sort of Cebuano artist collaboration for this film that features the history, the roots, the foundation, the influence and of course the rock bands that started everything. In order to pay tribute in their existence and contribution to OPM especially to those young and new generations that they continue to inspire.
