After a brief tour in Australia with Gatherer the band returned to the U.S. to play what would be their last show on December 4, 2009 at the Crabtree Brewing Company in Greeley, CO. After close to 18 months of silence from the band, guitarist Adam Rupert posted a message on the band's Facebook stating an indefinite hiatus.
Several days later Adam made another statement making it clear that the band has not broken up.
Everything's Not Shitty
Fear Before Lyrics

From here about the earth seems soft
Seems the people get along
Seems for once we do belong
(Ah, but a closer look reveals the earth is sticky with our greed)
Try to hold the fuck on
Stick our fingers in like seed
Coming from a cynic,
At least I don't just sit there,
At least I don't just nod
Everything's not shitty
No
Something's aren't so bad.
Tell me Mr. positive,
Why am I so bored?
Why am I so sad?
[Whispering]
Everything's (not shitty).
The plants, the birds might disagree
They sing a tune quite ominous,
There must be something wrong with us
(Our fingers in the ground, our bodies stick straight up like plants.)
Our sticky side now showing
Soon we'll be covered in ants.
And with our skin exposed
They'll chew us down to bone
Like little six legged architects
Building fancy homes
And
In
Hindsight
We
Should have maybe prepared for this.
Blame it all on he, who distracts us with shiny things.
So I say we look at this in a brand new light:
For the time being at least we're alive.
(You have to pass to be reborn
We were not not welcome anymore
I got lost along the way
We got lost along the way)
A metaphysical being on a hell of track
Tried to shoot for the moon but got last and came back
With a set of chipped teeth and a chip on his shoulder.
Tried to get on with his life but his life it was over
(The plants met up for a drink and decided to fuck with this one)
So a broken spirited man with nowhere to go
Tried to shoot himself dead but the bullet swung low
Ripped pit all of his teeth and part of his tongue.
Tried to do it again but couldn't pick up the gun
(The plants turned on the TV and had a laugh or 2 on him)
We all end up bone
We all end up rot
It's the travels that we take
That make it all worth while
We all end up deep
Deep under the dirt
It's the things you will see
That give life its worth
The lyrics of Fear Before The March Of Flames's song "Everything's Not Shitty" express a mix of cynicism, disillusionment, and optimism. The first few lines seem hopeful, as the singer looks around the world and sees that everything seems alright. However, as they take a closer look, they realize that the earth is "sticky with our greed," and everything is not as it seems. Despite this, the singer encourages us to "hold the fuck on" and keep trying, even if it feels pointless.
The song seems to be about the human experience, and how it can be both beautiful and terrible. The plants and birds "sing a tune quite ominous" - indicating that there is something deeply wrong with humanity. At the same time, the singer seems to be saying that life is worth living, even if it doesn't always make sense. They remind us that we are all going to die, but it's the journey that makes life worthwhile.
Overall, "Everything's Not Shitty" is a complex song that explores the contradictions of human existence. It challenges us to keep going even when things seem pointless, and to find joy in the simple things.

Blame it all on he, who distracts us with shiny things.
Place the blame on those who divert our attention from reality.
So I say we look at this in a brand new light:
We should adopt a fresh perspective
For the time being at least we're alive.
For now, the fact that we're still alive is enough to be grateful for.
(You have to pass to be reborn
One must die to be born again
We were not not welcome anymore
We weren't wanted here anymore
I got lost along the way
I strayed from my path
We got lost along the way)
We deviated from our journey
A metaphysical being on a hell of a track
A spiritual entity with a difficult path ahead
Tried to shoot for the moon but got last and came back
Attempted to achieve great heights but ended up back where they started
With a set of chipped teeth and a chip on his shoulder.
Feeling bitter and resentful, with physical injuries as well.
Tried to get on with his life but his life it was over
Tried to move on but was unable to make progress
(The plants met up for a drink and decided to f*** with this one)
Nature seemingly plays cruel tricks on me
So a broken-spirited man with nowhere to go
A dejected and hopeless man with nowhere to turn
Tried to shoot himself dead but the bullet swung low
Tried and failed to end his life due to factors beyond his control
Ripped pit all of his teeth and part of his tongue.
Subsequently hurt himself severely, losing some of his teeth and tongue.
Tried to do it again but couldn't pick up the gun
Failed to attempt to take his own life again due to weakness and hopelessness.
(The plants turned on the TV and had a laugh or 2 on him)
Nature seems to be mocking him with his TV and suffering.
We all end up bone
We will all end up as lifeless skeletons
We all end up rot
We will eventually decay into nothingness
It's the travels that we take
The journey we embark on throughout our lives
That make it all worth while
Are what make life valuable to us.
We all end up deep
We eventually reach great depths
Deep under the dirt
Underneath the soil, where we end up after death
It's the things you will see
It's what you witness during your life
That give life its worth
That make living worthwhile.
