After the split, bassist Adam Lewis and drummer Damon DeLaPaz devoted themselves to their now defunct side project Sing the Body Electric, while vocalist/guitarist Will Salazar and guitarist Chris Lewis formed the band Denver Harbor.
In September 2005, Fenix TX announced their reunion. They released a live album, Purple Reign in Blood, and supported it with tours across the United States and Japan.

Everything I can to conserve the best But life ain't nothin' but a bowl a
Grits and this United States proud crap makes me sick People tell me
Go make a name for yourself cause that's the only way you're gonna
Get outta this hell I'm gonna try and try and try and do all that I can
But I'll never understand it's guaranteed I'm making minimum wage I
Can't survive this day and age, Home of the free land of the brave, it's
Guaranteed I'm making minimum wage I'll take a work strike over a
Those striking ain't bottling beer Give me a gun let's go get the XXX he
Wouldn't mind he's protected by the aliens I've got a green man in my
Backyard This time the government has gone too far
The lyrics of Fenix TX's song Minimum Wage seem to express the frustration and disillusionment with the American dream, and the feeling of being trapped in a cycle of poverty. The first two lines of the song suggest that the singer is trying to be politically correct and mentally aware, doing everything in their power to do what is good for them and the society around them. However, the reality is that they are just a regular person trying to make ends meet in a difficult world: "But life ain't nothing but a bowl of grits and this United States proud crap makes me sick."
The next few lines show a sense of hopelessness and limited opportunities. People tell the singer to make a name for themselves, but they feel stuck in a situation that they cannot control. "I'm gonna try and try and try and do all that I can, but I'll never understand it's guaranteed I'm making minimum wage." The chorus of the song repeats this refrain, highlighting the difficulties of surviving on the lowest possible wage in a supposedly free and prosperous country. The singer is resigned to their fate and is left feeling stuck and trapped with no real hope of change.
In the last few lines of the song, the singer seems to be advocating for more radical action rather than just accepting their fate. They would rather go on a work strike than pay more taxes and seem to harbor some resentment towards people who bottle beer. They also mention a green man in their backyard, suggesting some dissatisfaction with the current state of government and social structures.
Overall, the lyrics of Minimum Wage paint a picture of disillusionment, frustration, and a sense of being trapped within a system that does not work in their favor.
