I wanna love you and treat you right;
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads;
We'll share the shelter of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
I wanna know - wanna know - wanna know now!
I got to know - got to know - got to know now!
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I - I'm willing and able,
So I throw my cards on your table!
I wanna love you - I wanna love and treat - love and treat you right;
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together, yeah! - with a roof right over our heads;
We'll share the shelter, yeah, oh now! - of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Wo-o-o-oah! Oh yes, I know; yes, I know - yes, I know now!
Yes, I know; yes, I know - yes, I know now!
I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I - I'm willing and able,
So I throw my cards on your table!
See: I wanna love ya, I wanna love and treat ya -
Love and treat ya right.
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together, with a roof right over our heads!
We'll share the shelter of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! Jah provide the bread.
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
"Is This Love" by Bob Marley is a beautiful and romantic song about a man who is deeply in love with someone and wants to treat them with nothing but love and care every day and night. He expresses his desire to be together with that special someone under a roof, to share the shelter of his single bed and to provide for each other as they share the same room. The repetition of the question "Is this love" throughout the song emphasizes the power of the emotions he is feeling and begs the question of whether or not his feelings are reciprocated.
The lyrics of the song are clear and straightforward, portraying the idea of a simple, honest love that the singer is experiencing. The use of Jah, which is a term that Marley used frequently in his music, is a reference to Rastafarianism, a belief system that focuses on the idea that the Emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I, is a messiah. The belief is that Jah provides for everyone, and therefore the shelter that the singer refers to is not just physical, but also spiritual.
Overall, "Is This Love" is a timeless love song that is appreciated by people of all generations. It perfectly captures the essence of pure love and the intense emotions that come with it.
