3) Fireworks is a christian poprock band from the 70's/80's. Fireworks started as a vocal trio with Marty McCall, Gary Pigg and Gwen Moore singing backup vocals on songs by B.J. Thomas and Amy Grant. Michigan Boys Need To Get A Clue
Fireworks Lyrics

Did you really think that you could be
All I ever wanted?
Learn to bite your tongue
And catch your words before the run.
Do you remember staying out all night?
That shooting star was a satellite
Twisting and turning.
We'll dance on this bridge till it's nearly burning.
Shout it out! Let it out!
This isn't an island, it's just our penninsula.
Now you're washed away,
Dancing like a fool won't change your name
And I've got pictures to prove it.
So just walk away,
Kids like you give kids like us a bad name.
And I've got people to prove it.
You want a piece of me?
C'mon and give me your best shot!
In "Michigan Boys Need To Get A Clue," Fireworks reflects on a past relationship and addresses their partner's behavior and immaturity. The lyrics convey a sense of disappointment and frustration towards someone who thought they could be everything the person desired. The line "Learn to bite your tongue and catch your words before they run" suggests the need for better communication and self-control.
The song continues with a reminiscence of staying out all night and a metaphorical reference to a shooting star as a satellite that fell short due to mixed signals. This imagery emphasizes the confusion and misunderstandings that plagued the relationship. The lines "Twisting and turning, we'll dance on this bridge till it's nearly burning" portray an intense and volatile dynamic between the two individuals. The chorus echoes the sentiment that their situation is not an isolated island, but rather a shared experience on their Michigan peninsula.
