Nicholas Ng has the kind of story that became increasingly common in 2009, when the most intriguing new psychedelic bands often weren't bands at all. A couple of months ago, Ng started sending out mp3s of his Fiveng bedroom pop project, in hopes that maybe somebody out there would hear something they liked and post them. A few local Bay Area blogs did. From there, Ng's aquatic lo-fi productions somehow found their way to Switzerland-based blog Delicious Scopitone, and then to Dallas-based Weekly Tape Deck. Now you're reading these words. And deservedly so.
Amid so many lame attempts to jump the recent "chillwave"/"glo-fi" phenomenon with summer-themed songs and "mysterious" secret identities, it's thrilling to know there are still undiscovered talents like Ng out there, tapping that zeitgeist of wooziness in their own refreshing ways. The fact that "Jonah" uses nature samples, exotica percussion, heavily reverbed guitars, streaky synths, and Panda Bear-style harmonies shouldn't come as much of a shock. That the arrangement is so accomplished, though-- the song so melodic and well-constructed-- makes Fiveng one of those rare pleasant surprises. "Jonah was a boy who didn't give a damn," Ng sings, over strummy chords that cry out for a mashup with the Exploding Hearts' "Throwaway Style"; "All he ever wanted was a bowl in his hand." As much Here We Go Magic as Washed Out, Ng just wants to see you underwater.

Do you have advice on dying over balayaged hair? My hair is light brown and it was balayaged with bleach and a coppery toner over top. I want it back to brown. It wasn’t done very well, and the underneath is WAY lighter than everywhere else so I’m nervous if I dye it brown it will be patchy! I would love some advice!

I always prefer going to a professional but, since everything going on I know it’s hard. When we go blonde we go through red, orange, yellow nasty tones right? Well when you are blonde and want go go back dark you have to fill the hair. I would suggest getting a copper color (DONT WORRY it won’t be the final result!) Then pick the brown color or whatever you want and dye it after you have rinsed out the copper. I always add a little copper to fill it works like a charm. Hope this helps!

I have a question I went to a hair dresser my hair was burgundy but it was fading then I told her I want light brown and she didn’t really bleached much and left some yellow yellow patch in the front but the rest of my hair is red orange color and I told her I want light brown and she said that if she puts the light brown on top of that copper color it will look fine but I’m thinking she needs to get rid of more red

Red/copper is the underlying pigment of level 6. Level 7 underlying pigment is straight copper. That’s the levels of a light brown. So the light brown should work perfect with a red/copper undertone.Hope this helps! 🙏🏻🤗
