With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Justine
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You run past the disaster
You run, a smile in the suitcase
You run, a nowhere inside
You know you'll never fly
So close you tried to feel the fire
But to forever try
You run restless and wired
You run trembling and tired
You scream, out to the nowhere
Justine, alone against the tide
You know you'll never fly
Your name won't be no running fire
But to forever try
One day your feet will sear the sky
And while the miles fly away
Memories decay
The years are dying
Each year for birthday a card
Few words from the heart
A note from the run
You stop.
Taking a breath while
You lock away the past miles
Sit down!
The running is over
Justine, I know where you hide!
You know you'll never fly
Your name won't be no running fire
But to forever try
One day your steps will take you higher
The song "Justine" by Flowing Tears explores the theme of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. The lyrics describe a woman named Justine who is always on the move, running away from her problems and seeking a better life. Despite her deep desire to succeed, Justine feels like she's going nowhere and will never achieve her dreams. The lyrics suggest that Justine is aware of her limitations and acknowledges that she may never become the success she hopes to be. However, the song also suggests that Justine is determined to keep trying just the same.
The chorus is especially poignant in its repetition. The line "You know you'll never fly" represents the common knowledge that not everyone is born with wings, and not everyone will be able to soar as high as they want to. However, the phrase "But to forever try" is a hopeful reminder that we can always keep trying to make progress and achieve our goals. The song seems to suggest that Justine's persistence will pay off in the end, even if it takes a while.
In the final verse, the song takes a shift in direction as the singer addresses Justine directly. He tells her that it's time to stop running and face her fears. He acknowledges her past struggles but reminds her that the running is over and that he knows where she's been hiding. This suggests that the singer may be a friend or loved one who has been watching Justine struggle from afar and wants to help her.
Overall, the lyrics of "Justine" are a powerful reminder of the importance of never giving up, even when things seem hopeless. The song's message is one of hope and encouragement, urging listeners to keep trying and never lose faith in themselves.
