With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

Merlin
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Merlin, my dear uranium bride
Merlin, my birth, my solar grenade
Merlin, so real, is what I elate
Come and get me
And we dive away now
Utopian grey now!
Merlin, my fear, my cosmic perfume
Merlin, the seed, the snake I consume
Merlin, my sin, my Lilith in flames
Take me away on luminous trains
Come and get me
And we dive away now
Utopian grey now!
Merlin try to break me, take me, hate me
Merlin try to haunt me, be my sun
And we dive away now
Utopian grey now!
The song "Merlin" by Flowing Tears is a cryptic and enigmatic piece of music that showcases the singer's longing to be taken away from the dullness of everyday life into a mystic and utopian world facilitated by their love and obsession with Merlin. The song's lyrics explore the singer's varied emotions that Merlin evokes in them- admiration, fear, sin, and desire. By describing Merlin as their "uranium bride" and "solar grenade," the singer implies that Merlin is their ultimate source of power and energy, which helps them escape the banalities of life.
Through the use of vivid imagery, the singer portrays Merlin as a mystical being capable of taking them away on "luminous trains" to a utopian world- a world painted in shades of grey. The singer also mentions Lilith, who, in Jewish mysticism, is viewed as a dangerous seductress and a destroyer of the innocent. By comparing Merlin to Lilith, the singer is expressing their desire to be consumed entirely by their love for Merlin- a love that they know might be detrimental to them, much like Lilith.
In conclusion, the song "Merlin" is a complicated and beautifully crafted piece of music that explores the human longing for something inexplicable and otherworldly. The song oscillates between mysticism and reality, love and fear- ultimately painting the picture of an individual who is grappling with the complexities of their love for Merlin.

One of my favourite bands 10-15 years ago. They have a unique sound that’s their own. Not only underrated, but entirely unheard of by anyone I know that I haven’t introduced this to.
