The Badman Riddim (Jump) Songfacts reports that Orifice Vulgatron and Dag Nabbit met in Dubai and after making drum and bass for a time they switched to hip hop. DJ Nonames met Metropolis at university in 2000 and the duo joined hip hop and funk band Focused Few and began throwing warehouse parties and touring. Vulgatron was introduced to Nonames through Dj Gizroc, then part of the Mixologists Crew, and by late 2002 the quartet had started performing and recording alongside beatboxer Shlomo. The band released their first album, Asylum Speakers on November 27, 2003. Shlomo subsequently moved on and started doing his own thing with the Beatbox Orchestra and by 2011 Dagnabbit had taken a backseat and was concentrating on the crew's business side.
The crew have released a slew of 12"s and Ep's and really made their mark after independently releasing their critically acclaimed, debut LP 'Asylum Speakers'. Foreign Beggars have collaborated and toured with the cream of UK's Hip Hop movement, with Shlomo appearing on Björk's album Medulla and NoNames having done cuts for Damon Albarn's Gorillaz project. With forthcoming projects with Dj Sparo, Dj Vadim, Dudley Perkins, WildChild (Lootpack), OH NO, Dj IQ, Dj Mentat, Scratch Perverts, and Euphrates, the crew see no boundaries with diversifying their sound.
Foreign Beggars are also renowned for their explosive live performances, which recently saw them tear down Glastonbury, Fabric and Hip Hop Kemp in Hradec Kralove. They have supported Public Enemy, Roots Manuva, Beatnuts, Masta Ace, Grand Master Flash, Talib Kweli, Wu-Tang Clan, Asian Dub Foundation, Last Emperor, Mark Ronson, Ja Rule, Blak Twang, and many more.

The Mission
Foreign Beggars Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
At the end of the path where the flock go
Feelin’ blessed by the gods if we not gone
In between the time the sun sets and the cock crows
Tryn’a make the right moves getting cold feet
Although we been walking on hot coals
Coz the clock shows no mercy for lost souls
and your socks show potholes when you got goals
He got popped by a demon the plot goes
black folk still carry that yolk, will carry that hope that broke but the cracks show
Whole generation a youts that could not grow
Without asking the truth where did pops go
Why we enslaved in gangs, now we're in chains
That hang at the torso, in the wardrobe
Life in belly beast, striving to get to a better eat,
Gotta climb to the peak,
But the inclines hella steep when your mind’s an enemy to defeat
We've been programmed to be weak
Brainwashed by the programmes and the radio jams on repeat
Rent scam is so beef, Some of us gotta shot grammes
So we're getting those grands by the week
The Man's got pockets but they're lined kinda deep
And he can't reach, sometimes he might
Throw a lil chump change at the school board
But equality's thing that you can't teach
Or solve while your jetting to a palm beach,
Taking selfies with street kids that can't eat
That's the part of the system we can't beat
Til we all come together as one piece
Decisions, Decisions
To live or to die for the mission
Not sure if the journey is even worth it
Tryna fly with a backpack full of burdens
So I stay
Swervin’ Swervin,
I’m a keep it movin till so long as it’s workin’ yeah
Swervin’ Swervin,
Til I see the ropes falling off the curtain yeah
Are we defined by our conscience?
Are we destined walk a certain path cos the cross fits?
In a world where the godless are not stressed
And the wotless lead the blind it's a hot mess
How we gonna progress?
when my ethnicity got me sittin on a watch list
Honestly honesty I hear a lot less
So a false prophet profiteers of a lost script
If it ain't progress it's nonsense
If it ain't us, It's a lot less
How u gonna be a voice for the youth when you
Misinterpret love for a sket in a dead dress
Cyberspace we connect but we're not friends
Productivity's up but to what end
I ain’t tryna wake up watch the world end
So I find peace on these beats thats a godsend.
So i see the world different,
Seen the world burn and to me that’s the system
I’m well aware shit can change in an instant
But seen the world turn its back on its children, Syria
Ostracised but we never played the victim
We learnt from the fringe that’s the difference
Even learned about love from a distance
But before love must come forgiveness
So I speak the unspeakable
Think the unthinkable live the unliveable
They said i was an outcast,
Said I was a cause for concern but i showed im invincible
I ain't livin in the clouds both feet on the ground,
Unified, we stay indivisible.
If I'm judged by your rules I'm a criminal.
Love transcend all hate in the physical
Decisions, Decisions
To live or to die for the mission
Not sure if the journey is even worth it
Tryna fly with a backpack full of burdens
So I stay
Swervin’ Swervin,
I’m a keep it movin till so long as it’s workin yeah
Swervin’ Swervin,
Til I see the ropes falling off the curtain yeah
The lyrics of the song "The Mission" by Foreign Beggars feat. Afronaut Zu & Bangzy revolves around standing at the crossroads and making tough decisions to either live or die for the mission. The mission here can be interpreted in different ways by different individuals; however, it appears to call for a revolution against the system and the injustices in society. The lyrics talk about the struggles of oppressed people who have been brainwashed by the system and who need to come together as one to fight against the odds.
The song makes references to Martin Luther King's dream, which was a better and fair society for blacks, but his dream was cut short. The lyrics also reference gangs and slavery, all of which contribute to a broken society. The song also emphasizes the need for forgiveness and unity before love can come into the picture. The song's chorus talks about making tough decisions and trying to keep moving forward, even with a backpack full of burdens, and how sometimes one needs to swerve to keep on working towards their goals.
Overall, the lyrics of "The Mission" call for change and for individuals to take a stand against the injustices in society.
