The Truth
Foster the People Lyrics
I've been trying to re-learn my name
It seems like a thousand years
I've been out of frame
And I surrender the truth is what
What I've needed from you
I've been floating within your walls of opinion
And I'm tired, I only want the truth
I have tried so hard not to be like them
I have found they don't ever say what they mean
I've been searching for directions and
I'm convinced the world doesn't know what it needs
There is a hope for the hopeless, I can promise you that
Yeah, well I been accosted
The jury's been partial
But I won't surrender
To prove to you I won't lie
Under pressure of compromise
Yeah well an absolute measure won't change with opinion
No matter how hard you try
It's an immovable thing
Just like the visions in your bed
Or when they're streaming in your head
I have tried so hard not to be like them
I have found they don't ever say what they mean
There is a truth, there is a light if you'd follow me there
I've been searching for the directions and
I'm convinced the world doesn't know what it needs
There is a hope
And I'll come back
If you're needing my hand
The world is so broken
I'm tripping my steps
I'm slipping and I know why
I never thought that I'd be here
A blinding call to prayer
Has touched my feet
Like the call of the prophets
A purpose is needed before you know that you know
To never wonder what you are
And not forget where you come from, yeah, wooh mmm mmm
Well i it really love you've been speaking of?
What'd you say? What'd you say? What'd you say? Yeah yeah What'd you say?
I said that you need me, don't you?
There is a truth, I can promise you that
I have tried so hard not to be like them
I have found they don't ever say what they mean
Yeah , yeah, the truth stands in the end
While you're deciding what to do
The truth stands in the end
While you're deciding what to do

JESUS MARK that is some R A N G E

@Becca Rasmusson ever heard of christine pavlina? She put videos out on you tube saying mark foster is her soul mate like actual other half of her soul. Shes a psychic medium and a clear channel for divine truth. Shes a profit of God therefore mark foster is a profit of God. He never acknowledged her in the end. But she can connect people with their higher self and tell them what their life purpose is. Therefore mark foster when he was talking about a purpose is needed so u never winder what u are or forget where u came from, he was talking about ur life purpose and that u never forget ur from god.

I know, I feel like in this album (Supermodel) he really shows more 'R A N G E', because Hollywood probably labeled him as 'hiding in the closet' (in other words, gay). So his producer probably mentioned that to him. Also, I have both of his albums, and in Torches, he writes all of his songs. However, in Supermodel he has a co-writer, and extra backup musicians, whereas in Torches, it was only him (Mark Foster) his drummer (Mark Pontius) and the bass guitar (Jacob "Cubbie" Fink). So I feel like Torches was pure originality from the trio, but then Supermodel adds a number of extra vocalists and musicians, which I find strange because Supermodel is mainly about If you're happy with yourself. (i.e. Are You What You Want To Be?, Ask Yourself, Never Mind, etc. etc.) So maybe Mark F. was trying to send us a message of some sort?? Don't worry, I'm not as wise as I sound, I just watch too many Shane Dawson conspiracy videos.

He sounds just like this live too.

For real though. Saw them at a festival on a whim and hearing this live single-handedly made me a fan of theirs.
