Many tears ago
Francis Connie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

They said your cheating heart will make me cry
And like a fool I gave it a try
I should've listened when they told me so
Many many tears ago

But I could not believe the things they said
Because my heart over ruled my head
I should've listened when they told me so
Many many tears ago

I laughed out loud when they told me
That you had someone else
But your cheating heart has shown me
That I was foolin' myself

I know it's too late for a brand new start
For I have cried you out of my heart
I should've listened when they told me so
Many many tears ago

I laughed out loud when they told me
That you had someone else
But your cheating heart has shown me
That I was foolin' myself

I know it's too late for a brand new start
For I have cried you out of my heart
I should've listened when they told me so

I should've listened when they told me so
Many many tears ago

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Francis Connie's song "Many Tears Ago" tell a story of love lost and regrets. The singer reflects on her past relationship, acknowledging that her partner's infidelities were warned about, but she chose to ignore the advice given to her. She describes how her heart blindly ruled her head, causing her to believe that her lover was faithful. As time goes on, the truth is revealed, leading to a sense of foolishness and heartbreak. The song ends with the realization that it's too late for a new beginning, as the singer has already cried her partner out of her heart.

The song is a classic representation of 1960s pop music, with its catchy beat and heart-wrenching lyrics. One interesting aspect of the song is how it portrays the singer's inner struggle, as the lyrics show her trying to rationalize her partner's behavior, even though she knows it's wrong. Additionally, the song's theme of heartbreak instantly resonated with audiences and contributed to its popularity.

GTA online should have an entire radio station with 50s music

@mauaraya141

Yoooooo, i would love that idea but, applying it for music in general from start of the XX century (1900) to the the end of 1960, THAT would be sick.

@wurstbrot3124

I would love that. Also finished my 50s Car Garage and a 50s Radio Station would fit perfectly

Listen to Fallout radios sometime.

@grandviceroyoftheempire

Yep. All I've wanted in gta was a radio with 40s 50s and 60s music. It's nice to finally have a small bit. On that radio station you can also sometimes hear the I love Lucy theme. :)

@shawntlucas90

This is literally one of the only songs like this on that station. Its mostly old punk/rockabilly type stuff like The misfits, the cramps, velvet underground. Its actually kinda random this song is on there...
