You promise me this, you promise me that
You promise me anything under the sun
Then you give me a kiss,
And your grabbing your hat
And your off to the races again
When I think of the time gone by
Adelaide, Adelaide!
And I think of the way I tried!
Adelaide!
I could honestly die.
Call a lawyer and sue me,
Sue me
What can you do me,
I love you.
Give a holler and hate me
Hate me
Go ahead, hate me!
I LOVE YOU
The best years of my life, I was a fool to give you
Alright, already, I'm just a no-goodnick!
Alright, already, it's true.
So new.
So sue me, sue me
What can you do me?
I love you
You gamble it here,
You gamble it there
You gamble on everything, all except me
And I'm sick of you keeping me up in the air
Till your back in the money again
When I think of the time gone by

In that case, pack your satchel. It's coming to you surely.

I know that a lot of people, including Frank Sinatra himself thought that he should have been cast as Sky Masterson, but I just hate the idea that he wouldn't be Nathan. This is one of my favorite movies and the reason is Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.
@eidelbus
I'd never heard he or anyone thought he should have been Sky. He might have been terrific, too. Brando was the choice for Sky, though, being only 31 and making women swoon. Sinatra was about 10 years past that, and besides, who then would have been Nathan? That part I don't think would have been right for Brando.
@synowiecj
I thinks it worked out as it should have....brilliant
@Jayjen35
@@eidelbus Yup Sinatra definitely believed that the cool, suave Sky Masterson should have been given to him - and so did a few critics. I heard that that is one of the reasons that he recorded the song "Luck be a Lady Tonight". He wanted to prove that he could have played that part.
I don't know - Marlon Brando was such a.good actor I don't think that he would have had a problem with playing Nathan. But - I doubt that the public would have accepted him in that part. Anyway, despite his feeling Sinatra was absolutely perfect for that part.

Jayjen35 I agree!! Nathan isn’t supposed to be young like Sky was, (remember he’s been engaged for 14 years)
@dalehoward8352
@@avarichards8673 yeah but Sinatra wanted that role as Sky; Marilyn Monroe wanted to play Adelaide...but I think the movie worked out very fine as is!
@killerone54
he is so smooth .....he is like "sue me, i love you" like wow
@donuthurtmyhoney8313
Smooth, yes. A misguided fuck, also yes.
