1. It all began as a playful side project. Leilani Hermiasih was just a little bored with her daily life. Her background in classical piano (which she had learned in some lessons with a superbly nice and patient old lady since she was about 7) gave her a little idea in what kind of game she wanted to play. She wanted to play the game of fun music. It was never that hard. All of the melodies would come out of outer space, and magically place themselves into her fingers as she then tried to put them all together into a proper song. Lyrics were added, and voila! It was done. Ding!
She was also inspired by a lot of musicals produced by Cameron Macintosh and written by Andrew Lloyd Webber she watched everyday in her early years. So you might also get a little taste of that.
She picked to go by another name, Frau, because she feels that she doesn't stand alone in this whole new drama she's creating. She's in this all with her beloved piano she named Oskar. Frau it self means "mrs." or "wife" in Deutsch / German, which then places her to be the 'wife' of music. And together, they will create little cute fun babies, which you could all listen to. Oh, and besides collaborating with Oskar, she would be collaborating with a lot of damn great musicians with their secret weapons.
But then again, frau doesn't like to be too serious in making you listen to her. So just take your cup of tea and enjoy every spit of her voice and Oskar's!
2. Frau is a punk noise band from London, UK formed in 2013. It features members from feminist queer DIY bands Woolf and Good Throb.
Something More
Frau Lyrics

They take photographs and think they rule the town
Fancy hats and shades are how you'd tell them out
It's the time of year I'd try to get around
Maybe something else could get me off the ground
A little synth or more could probably do the crowd
Why don't you understand?
Why don't you know?
Why won't you let go?
It's the time of year I'd try to get about
I need something that would get me off the ground
So let's add some strings to try to aww the crowd
Coming clean on music wouldn't make it wrong
It may seem that I would never think it up
Little singing tunes are not reallly my choice
Why don't you understand?
Why don't you know?
Why won't you get the catch?
The lyrics of Frau's song "Something More" depict the singer's frustration with the tourist season in their town. The tourists come in droves, thinking they own the place, with their fancy hats and sunglasses. This time of year is also a time when the singer is trying to find something new and exciting to lift them up. They are open to experimenting with new sounds, such as adding strings or synths, to their music to captivate the crowd.
The singer expresses their frustration with their audience not understanding their music, not grasping the catch of their tunes, and not letting them go. The lyrics reveal the artist's desire to try new things and be more adventurous in their music, but they are unsure whether it would be well received. The chorus repeats the same unanswered questions, possibly alluding to the singer feeling like no one truly understands their creative vision.
Overall, the lyrics of "Something More" suggest the singer's desire to improve and evolve their music and a struggle to be understood by their audience. The tourist season in their town serves as a backdrop to their longing for something new and exciting to break them out of their creative rut.
