French 79 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Everytime the lights are turning blue
Then I tried to close my eyes to see my hometown
I don't wanna change your life
Flying to the back in time
I feel like a child wearing his cotton cloth
I don't need a purified mind

The future and the past are really confusing
But I keep my feet on the ground to keep trying
I don't wanna change my life
Flying to the back in time
I feel like a child

Wearing his cotton cloth
I don't need a purified mind

Overall Meaning

Real Lyrics:

Every time the lights are turning down
Then I try to close my eyes to see my hometown
I don’t want to change my life
I need to go back in time

I feel like a child
Wearing this golden crown
Why do I need to play with my mind?

The future and the past are really confusing
But I keep my feet on the ground to keep dreaming
I don’t want to change my life
I need to go back in time

I feel like a child
Wearing this golden crown
Why do I need to play with my mind?

(Note: these lyrics were given by French 79 to Martin Mey for his piano cover of Hometown so we know they are correct. Seems like the lyrics sites just guessed the words)

@go_fuck_yourself

I just noticed something! At 4:30, the lights spell out "79" in binary:
0100 = 4
0010 = 2
1000 = 8
0001 = 1
0000 = 0
1111 = 15

4 * 2 * 8 * 1 = 64

And...

64 + 15 = 79

The drawings the girl made probably spell out some message as well.

@helunixx

I love how the number three is represnted everywhere :
- in the melody (it's literally made of three notes)
- on the triangles (three sides)
- the radio has 3 numbers
- the traffic light has three states
-3 heartbeats arround 1:35

edit : i know it kind of also works with 4 but am too lazy to update this. it's also funny to see how this comment is getting more attention recently than when I originally posted it

I love the French, and French DJs
I am from French, Dutch, German and English extraction at the southern tip of Africa. A good mix they say.

Is there a place where I can, like, send 10-15€ your way and receive a zip file full of mp3s?

Can I just say your track hometown is absolutely amazing. It's my favourite track and I'm so so pleased I could purchase it on vinyl as I only collect and play vinyl records. Call me old fashioned but vinyl will never die in my opinion. Thank you so much for such a great recording. Much 💕

@gothgirlfriend713

Heroes is my fav track so far. Reminds me of a classical composition.
