Being familiar with Kurt's music for many years through the introduction of his friend Robert Pancur of Target Records, Gregor Klee signed Frozen Rain to his newly founded label Avenue Of Allies Music. With a company that shared Kurt's musical vision and the love for AOR, melodic rock and Westcoast music Frozen Rain had found a perfect home. The first album came out in April 2008 and was very well received all over the world.
When Kurt met guitar player Rik Priem at the end of 2007 both knew right away they had found the perfect songwriting partner. At the same time Kurt's brother Hans Vereecke decided to pick up his drum sticks again. Keyboard player Jurgen Vitrier and bass player Vincent De Laat (who both played on the first album too) joined the guys and the new Frozen Rain was born. The only thing they still needed was a singer with a very powerful voice to sing on the second album.
It was Kurt's friend Pierpaolo 'Zorro' Monti who suggested Kurt to try out German singer Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz who had just done an amazing job on the Shining Line album. Kurt started talking to Carsten and presented him the new songs. Carsten was very interested to work with the band and the last missing link was found. You can hear the result on the second Frozen Rain album 'Ahead of Time'.
Red Light Zone
Frozen Rain Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A crowded train,
Searched her way
Through the pouring rain.
Tried to find a job
In the factory,
But they said
There's no vacancy.
Red, red light zone.
Abandoned, so alone.
A wanderer, without a home.
Each day,
She tried to survive
And to keep
Her dream alive.
On the street,
She fell asleep,
But no one
Saw her weep.
Red, red light zone.
Abandoned, so alone.
A wanderer without a home.
It was written
On her face.
She felt
Out of place.
Her life
Was complicated.
She resigned
To her fate.
Guitar solo
Red, red light zone.
Abandoned, so alone.
Red, red light zone.
Abandoned, so alone.
A wanderer without a home
The lyrics to Frozen Rain's song "Red Light Zone" tell the story of a woman who is struggling to find a place in the world. She has tried to find work in a factory, but has been turned away due to a lack of available jobs. She is left to wander the streets, trying to survive and keep her dreams alive. Despite her best efforts, she finds herself sleeping on the street and feeling completely alone.
Throughout the song, it becomes clear that the woman's life is complicated and she is resigned to her fate. The lyrics suggest that she has long given up hope of finding a place in the world and has accepted her current situation. This is reinforced by the repeated refrain of "Red, red light zone. Abandoned, so alone. A wanderer without a home."
The guitar solo towards the end of the song serves to heighten the sense of isolation and loneliness that the woman is feeling. Overall, "Red Light Zone" is a powerful portrayal of the struggles faced by many individuals who are left to fend for themselves in an unforgiving world.
