During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011

Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
then i insist on pages of your lines
meant for me, to be sent to me.
remember watching the storms from the lifeguard stand
remember feeling the tingling in my fingertips, when i touch your lips
and i recall how you sat on the same side of me
it always seemed that you'd always be on my side, you're my best side.
and it's early June so the sand's still dry and you have got the boldest eyes
that inside you it's me i'll find
and i'm still waiting...
and it's early June so the sand's still dry and the storm off shore's not far behind
and i'm still waiting...i'm still waiting
and sometimes we don't say a thing for a long while
and the ships off shore hold stories that we'd make
and sometimes we are held at bay by these miles
but less of you is more than i can take.
and the moments that we've shared could last a lifetime
and the faith i have in us will keep you near
but several hundred miles placed in between us
means several hundred words be sent by mail.
i hope this letter finds you well.
The lyrics to Further Seems Forever's "How to Start a Fire" are a reflection on a past relationship, with the singer yearning for connection with their lover despite the distance between them. The song opens with the singer acknowledging their lover's love of imagery, but insisting on a more personal connection through written words. The memories of their past together- watching storms from a lifeguard stand, feeling the tingling of their fingertips, and sitting on the same side- are sentimental and hold nostalgic weight. The chorus repeats that it's early June, the sand's still dry, and the storm is off shore- a metaphor for the difficulties in their relationship. Even though they are separated by miles, their shared experiences and memories give them hope for the future, and the singer expresses their faith that the distance between them will not diminish their love.
Overall, the lyrics to "How to Start a Fire" are deeply personal and introspective, reflecting on the singer's emotions and experiences in their past relationship. Through powerful imagery and nostalgic memories, the song conveys a sense of longing and hope for the future, despite the challenges in their way.
