Invisible
G/Z/R Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Invisible, the man on the street
The voice of silence
You don't want to meet
The homeless, the poor
Society's dregs
The drunk and the junkie
The woman who begs
Old and dying are obsolete
Children crying in the street

Invisible, victims of hate
Police and villains
Wasters of time
Scapegoats and prodigals
Social outcasts
Lost boys and girls, iconoclasts

Old and dying are obsolete
Children crying in the street
Drugs abusing, our memory losing
Invisible are everywhere

Invisible, the child you abuse
The people who die for the drugs that
You use
The wife that you batter, the husband
You cheat

The old and the dying, the now
Obsolete

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of G/Z/R's song The Invisible tackle the theme of societal neglect where individuals are marginalized in society and often go unnoticed. The song describes a group of individuals who are invisible to society, drawing attention to their existence, and making them visible. The first verse describes the homeless, the poor, and society's dregs, including drunkards, drug addicts, and begging women. The second verse expands the category of the invisible and offers a glimpse into the different types of people who are invisible, such as victims of hate, police, and villains. The chorus brings together the themes of the song, stating that old and dying individuals are obsolete, while children cry in the streets, and drug abuse is rampant.

The overall message of the song is clear: the invisible are all around us, and we need to be more aware of them. The song invites listeners to consider their actions and how they impact those who are often neglected by society. It urges individuals to pay attention to the invisible, to acknowledge their existence, and work to make them visible.

@GavatronX9

I absolutely love the album that this is on plastic planet honestly was one of those albums that changed my life

@RealDrButcher

Everyone taking about the bass tone, but can we talk about that guitar tone? It punches so hard on the palm mutes.

@headbangerdnb

Yea, that's the bass giving the guitar that punch. When you're mixing a metal song, you almost always want to have the bass be the body of the guitar and duck those frequencies from the guitar behind the bass.

@robonguitarnz

Man, this was when Fear Factory was hitting the mark, that infamous Mortal Kombat soundtrack was being thrown around at parties... good times!

@guitarfocus

@stevebutchart3638

@@guitarfocus Not me, if you can still remember what music was being played (or anything else that happened that night) 30 days, let alone years later, it was probably pretty tame...
